Question about 2000 Harley Davidson FLHTCUI Electra Glide Ultra Classic
Hi Duprat_desig, no worries mate it's just the system or speedometer recalibrating itself and it's too bad you can't find the very first and best tool you ever bought for your Harley Davidson. Despair not, for a mere $6.50 you may be able to download another one from the website below and good luck.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I found this info for you. Have you tried the built in diagnostic in your speedometer? You can access them by:
1) While you ignition is off hold the reset button
2) Turn the key to the on position.
Now from each reset button push the speedometer will test the following:
d01 Speed sensor power output shorted low
d02 Speed sensor power output shorted high or open
d03 Not Used
d04 Not Used
d05 Speed sensor return shorted high
d06 Speed sensor return shorted low
d07 Not Used
d08 Speedometer power over voltage
d09 Speed output shorted high
d10 Speed output shorted low or open
The last number CAL14 is the calibration number.
To reset all codes while in diagnostic mode, hold the reset button in for 5 seconds.
Each test will read dXXSEt if there is a problem, or dXXCLr if there is not. (XX being the number of the list above) The
From what I can tell it will test if your speed sensor, speedometer, or wiring is the problem.
Hope it helps. Cheers

SOURCE: Engine Check Light on
I disconnected the battery, pulled the maxi fuse and 15amp ecm fuse. I waited a while and put the fuses back in and connected the battery and it was cleared.

The torque specs are the same as with any Evolution engine. The compensator sprocket 150-165 foot pounds.
Clutch hub nut (left handed threads) 60-80 foot pounds.
Use Loctite 271 on threads. Two lines in nut on Compensator and one line in clutch hub nut.

Had this same problem with my wife's 2004 XL1200C. Took it to the dealer and they discovered the batt cable was just a little loose. They tightened it and we've had no problems with that since...that was 2 yrs ago.
