Running with the choke on is a classic indicator that the pilot circuit in the carb is too lean. Richen your pilot (low speed) circuit (the small jet in the bowl) by replacing it with a larger jet. Keep in mind I am not familiar wih this exact bike but I believe the advise to be solid.

My golf cart has to crank more than necessary before engine starts. Choke does not seem to make a difference.

The carb choke circuit is most likely plugged which is why it has slow starting. The clunk may be from the engine idle being set to high. It probably is running high idle because it has carb issues and the fuel system may need cleaning.

Suzuki 380 gt not running after choke turned off

The engine was running with the choke pulled and when closed there is no fuel supply to the engine probably due to a faulty setting. It is possible that there is a fuel block and so the carb needs a clean up and reset.
remove the filter and check the fuel jets.

How do I clean the carbs on my 1979 Yamaha XS1100?

You need to remove the seat and fuel tank first. Loosen the clamps on the back of all 4 carbs that the air box boots are connected to. Then do the same on the front of all 4 carbs that connect the carbs to the intake boots. Pull the carbs out of the boots and disconnect the choke and throttle cables. Now you got to take the carbs completly apart for a good cleaning and adjustment. If you feel this is to much for you to handle then take it to a good bike repair shop.

Yamaha SR125 Carb Problem

Sounds more like when the reinstalled your carb after cleaning, they did not ensure a proper seal from the carb to intake manifold. This is common! It could be no more than an intake leak. Start your motor and Spray a little WD40 just behind the carb on the intake seals. Be carefull not to spray into the throat of the carb as this will cause a false reading. A variance in the idle of the motor when you do this indicates an intake leak.

it is either a float problem with the carbs or a jetting issue. i would check to make sure you have flow thru your carbs .

Homelite gas trimmer will not run without half choke and throttle

You need to disassemble the carb. and spray with carb. cleaner. If you need tips on how to do this, just let me know. You may need a new carb. kit as well, but we won't know that until you first perform the first step, or if the carb. parts are more than 3 years old. If they are, then go ahead and buy the carb. kit and replace the parts.
