If I understand you correctly, you say a short in the headlight wiring took out your ignition unit? I don't have any specs on aftermarket equipment. Have you tried RevTech's website. Go there and see if they have a "Technical" section.

    Good Luck

Found this another site. Sounds like good advice to me.

call CCI (custom chrome) in Morgan Hill, CA, 408-778-0500, tech department, have the guy fax you the 5 sheets of Installation Instructions......ignition pictorial/schematic, other good info included--timing/troubleshooting, pre-starting, etc......if you have no fax, find someone/business who has one to get it.

My 2004 Chevrolet Malibu Classic keeps blowing the Ign sw-batt1 (40A) Maxi Fuse What do I do?

Is the 4th digit of your vehicle's VIN an "N"? If it is an "N", it looks like the IGN SW BATT 1 (fuse#5) powers up the powertrain control module (PCM), body control module (BCM), and instrument panel cluster (IPC). If your PCM ACC fuse G (10 amp) and IPC/BFC ACC fuse J (10 amp) in the left driver side fuse block in the dash are not blown, then you have a short circuit to ground in the wire between the IGN SW BATT 1 fuse in the underhood fuse block, and the ignition switch in the steering column. This would be a thick red wire. A short circuit to ground means that this wire somewhere has rubbed through and is touching metal. Find the short, repair the wire, and you'll stop replacing that expensive 40 amp fuse :)
Unless... someone has tapped into the wire (amplifier or stereo?) and is pulling way too much current through the wire, in which case the fuse would be blowing out. The correction for a blown fuse is NEVER to install a bigger fuse. You risk overheating the circuit and possible fire. Always find the cause of the short/overcurrent.

Electrical problem battery fuse keeps blowing

Hi Mrgrube, you have a dead/hard short should be easy to find with a test lite or volt meter. Start tracking the wire that the fuse is blowing in, for a free wiring diagram please visit the website below and good luck. Harley Davidson Wiring Diagrams and Schematics

Ignition fuse blows when key is turned on no 'engine check ' light

Hi Hucknted, you have a hard/dead short that should be easy to find generally they are the easiest. Time to get out your test light and start tracking the wire from the power side of the switch, circuit breaker or the blown fuse receiver, when the test light quits lighting you are very close to your short. For a free wiring diagram please visit the website below and good luck.

When U turn ign key no check eng light all others turn on try to start ,nothing wigle key and clock, heater fan climate control sorta work but as you continue to turn key it shuts of and nothing ive...

You may want to check the engine to boy gounf . It is located at the rear top of engine anfd is bolted to the engine intake manifold and screwed to the firwall. It's just a short stainless steel braided strap Remove ,clen rnds and sand of any pat tthat would interfere with a good connection. Good Luck _Ned_

Starter will not turn over until the batt. cable is disconnected

Sounds to me like there is a short in the starting system that is causing this (or it's wired wrong). Ford starter solenoids are known for problems. The reason the starter will turn after the cable is disconnected is because the circuit (or in this case short circuit) has been broken . I'll bet if you replace the starter solenoid, your problem will be solved. I think it's just "shorting-to-ground". Good Luck!
