1971 Honda CB 100 will not turn over

Hi, Anonymous before testing any electrical component in the Starting System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. Faulty ignition relay.
14. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
15. Check for engine trouble codes.

Need to know what part number is and description of solenoid for 1971 cb350

Any 12 volt solenoid will work. Yamaha has one for about $35 that is about the same size. It just has to have the two battery post terminals and two activator wires ( you may have to change the plug ends). OEM part # was 30580-306-670 starter magnetic switch assembly

1971 CB 350 clutch is VERY low (close) - How do I adjust it?

On the left side sprocket cover is a nut and screw , if you loosen the nut you can turn the screw you can adjust the clutch. You will want to loosen all your cable adjustments first so you have the adjustments later when you need them again. If this does not work, take the cover off and inspect the pieces for damage ,missing bearings, cracked parts, bent shaft, etc. If you pull the shaft out of the motor be careful there is a small bearing that will usually fall out of the motor after you have left the room if the bike is on its side stand.

How do you change a oil filter on a 1971 Honda CL 350 motorcycle?

You don't really "change" the filter. You just clean it. There is a screen filter on the bottom of the oil pump that serves to do a basic filter of the oil going into the oil pump. The real "filter is a centrifugal filter on the right end of the crankshaft. The spinning filter forces the heavy dirt particles to the inner rim of the filter where they build up to a somewhat solid mass. A screw driver pushed into the mass will break the dirt up and when most of the dirt mass is removed, a can of carb cleaner can finish the job. Only minor dis-assembly of the filter is needed to clean it. There is no need to actually remove the filter from the crankshaft.
