I may need a bit more clarification, but I am assuming the lever is 'spongy'?
The simplist thing to do first is to tie the front brake lever back (ie make it stay on) using a zip tie. Leave this overnight/24 hours and it will allow the trapped air to rise.
Failing this, you can bleed the brake in reverse. Get a large syringe (ebay/chemist) and some pipe that fits over the bleed nipple and the syringe. Remove the master cylinder cover and **** out (use the syringe) the brake fluid. Now fill the syringe with fresh brake fluid and connect to the bleed nipple on the caliper. Open the bleed nipple and slowly push the syringe in, to force the fluid up to the reservoir. Be careful that the fluid doesent come out of the reservoir and splash on your paint work. Lock the bleed nipple up whilst still slowly forcing the fluid in. This normally works.

I can see this is a few years old now, but hopefully useful to anyone else with the same problem. The XT125 is an absolute nightmare to bleed the brakes for some reason. Tried various methods inc. back filling with syringe etc. Even replaced the master cylinder, need not have. In the end I took the front caliper off the forks, wedged the (old) pads open with a spanner (IMPORTANT), got up on a step ladder and held the caliper up above my head (air rises) and had someone pump the lever whilst I worked the nipple with a tube on the end feeding into a jar - (somewhat) conventional bleed. Sounds funny and probably looked even more so, but it worked for me. After doing this, zip-tieing the brake lever to the grip overnight gave me the perfect lever the next morning.

The brake light does not work even after the bulb has been changed. both the foot and the hand brake does not work

Hi, Anonymous before diagnosing any brake light issue always check the bulb and fuse first for integrity a brake light staying on is usually caused by the front brake light switch, which is mechanical, not disengaging. On early models moving the throttle control housing closer to the front brake master cylinder is the main fix. On late models, the switch gets tweaked and needs to be realigned. A brake light that does not come on when the brake lever is applied can be caused by a faulty switch or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. The rear brake light switch is hydraulic and it is extremely rare to malfunction in a closed circuit condition causing the brake light to stay on. Usually, rear brake light switch issues are caused by no brake pedal free play or a sticky rear master cylinder piston. A brake light that does not come on when the rear brake pedal is depressed can be caused by a faulty switch, air contamination in the brake line, or no continuity in the wiring at the switch. No front brakes on 95 yamaha big bear atv

gravity bleed. make sure fluid is always full. crack open the bleeder screw and let the brake fluid drip until no bubbles. Then close bleeder top off fluid and replace cap. Now, pull the brake handle. If there is no pressure or has bleed down, the master cylinder is kaput.
