They are held on with tamperproof screws from underneath, you need to get the heads to turn with a small chisel or punch, or drill the heads off and replace with normal screws.
You will probably need to remove the top triple clamp to work on it

Can I cut keys at lock smith

I notice from the questions you are asking that your key wont turn in the ignition lock, not that you just need a new key to replace a lost one.
As you may know, most car keys are "chipped" or programmed to a car so just getting one cut doesn't mean it will start the engine, but this may be alright for you just to find out if the ignition barrel itself is okay. If a locksmith can cut a key for you it will be relatively cheap to do and find out about the lock. Most manufacturers require you to purchase one from a dealer and you will need proof of ownership, but this can be costly and even more so if the new correct key wont work due to a faulty lock.
Hope that helps.

My son has lost his key and their is no spare. Is it possible to give the vin number and get a new key? if so where do we call his car is a 1996

Most dealerships will tell you they can't make another key. Contact a local locksmith who will remove the ignition, check the numbers on the tumblers and re-cut a new key. Cost will vary, around $100.

Lost keys... cheaper to replace ignition than to order keys... cant remove tumbler assymbly.. 98 honda civic

It might pay you to call a locksmith. Good ones know how to get into cars and they usually know how to get the codes needed to cut you a new key. That might cost you about $15 depending versus all the hassle for you.

Replacing ignition switch

Do not listen to your dealer, if you can ride or trailer it, just go to your local locksmith, he will be able to cut you a new set of key and will cost less than the dealer, the fit still pretty good usually.
Other way is to have noted the key indicator number from your key-cylinder and ask the dealer to get an original factory key (normally an authorised dealer have a book that describe how the key are shaped to fit a particular key-hole in a bike) this process is abit expensive but sure fit.
Good enough?

How do you remove the ignition to take to a locksmith? Idiot with a lost set of keys

It may actually be easier and more cost effective to have the lock smith come to you. The service charge of the locksmith is likely going to be far less than the cost of a new ignition switch after you demolish it trying to remove it..... Not the answer you were looking for but in my experience (I've broken a lot of stuff) it saves money in the long run...

Need to remove ignition switch off a triumph trophy four 1995, to get keys cut

Where's the key, that's the one you should duplicate.
Bring it to a Locksmith he can make you a new one but cost a lot more than cutting the ignition key itself.
