How to set pionts on a 1340 77 harley

Raise the rear wheel of the bike off the ground, shift the transmission into fourth gear, remove the spark plugs and bump the rear tire in the normal direction of rotation until the points open as wide as they will, Usually, there is a mark on the break cam that indicates where this point is. Get the fiber cam follower right on this mark. Loosen the points screw and set the points at 0.020". If you're setting a used set of points, burnish any raised area on the points with a points file to get them smooth. Once you get the point set, shift the transmission back to neutral, reinstall the spark plugs and lower the bike.

Good Luck
Steve.

I want to set my points on my yamaha xs250 twin do i set my left hand points then four cycles and set the right hand side

Your points will fire on the combustion and the exhaust stroke. Motorcycles use a wasted spark set up. The points will fire every time the piston approaches top dead center. Set the plate point set first(If there is a point set that you have to turn the mount plate to set). The plate set also times the motor. Then gap the second set.

How to configure it for point to point network

I'm assuming you have two of these.
Configure one as an access point. Choose a frequency channel, an SSID, a power setting, and an encryption method and password. Set its administrative password. Give it an IP address in the proper range of your LAN, and attach it to your LAN switch. Point it properly.
Configure the other as a bridge or a bridge-router, as you require. Tell it what SSID to find, set its power setting, and give it the same encryption method and password. Set its administrative password. Give it a different IP address in the proper range of your access point's LAN. If you configure it as a bridge-router, configure its own LAN side as you wish. Point it at the remote access point, and within about 30 seconds it should pick up on the signal and you will have a point-to-point network.
