Question about 1985 Honda XR 250 R
I don't know if the Honda you have can be wired that way. Most Honda's are set up to draw ignition power from a battery. This means you need a voltage regulator/rectifier, etc. Some XR's come with a headlight and a taillight, handy for getting out of the woods after dark. If you have an XL you will probably have to use the XR stator, harness, and CDI to convert it to no battery. The plate on your frame neck should have the model number on it. I would check the dirt rider forums (advrider and others)and see if you can find someone who has converted your model.
