My 2002 4X4is missing in the lower gears Please help

It could be a fuel pressure issue or the mass air flow sensor. Most fords have a fitting on the fuel rail that looks like a tire valve. You can us a tire guage to check it there. Be careful and do this as quick as you can so as not to loose to much fuel. It could cause a fire if it hits the exhaust. Cover you eyes with safety glasses or a face shield. The pressure should be above 30 psi. If the fuel pressure is good, then check the mass air flow sensor, It is located near the air filter box on the air tubing going to the throttle body. It will have a wire plugged into it. At and idle, unplug the wire, if the engine stops the MAF is good, if the engine still runs, the MAF is bad. I am old school and have learn these by trial and error. I hope this helps you find you issue. Good Luck

Intermittent problem. Truck ran fine one day and barely ran the next time I started it. Runs incredibly rough like it's missing but not like a consistently missfiring plug but missfiring on all plugs...

Check for sticking idle air control valve and stuck open EGR valve. Both are common causes for very rough engine operation due to fuel-air ratio being too far off. Also check for large vacuum leak such as from rubber hoses connecting PCV valve to intake. Feel around for squishy or oily rubber which would indicate a leaking hole in the rubber hoses.

Miss fire, poor running after about 8 miles?

Make sure your vent in the gas tank is not stop up.Make sure your fuel punp is putting out the right amount of fuel .You can check the vent by taking off gas cap But make sure you only have about half tank of gas. When it stard to dothat; put your choke on If it run better you know it in the gas.My vt1100 did that with me and come to find out it was in the carb. But you need to check these thing befor you go to carb along with checking your gas filter.Hope this help you

bike's speed goes down drastically.Even though I am on the speed of 50 to 60 in 4rth gear this happenes that the moment I leave the accelaratorbike retards. Is it sth with gear system?Yep thats engine braking for you. Try the same with clutch in and you should experience no retardation. No you can't nullify it, all engines have it and its nothing to do with fuel quality. When you take your hand of the throttle the engine stops sucking in fuel but the cylinders keep going up and down and compressing the air inside them. This takes work and hence slows you down. In any case your looking at it all wrong, its a good thing not a bad thing. It helps you to control your speed going down hills and stops your brakes from wearing out so quickly. The higher the gear your in the less engine braking you will have, but applying bursts of throttle and then trying to coast is still not a good way to ride. Just use the throttle to control your speed, thats what its there for.,,,
