If it has spark then it is most likely a carburetor issue. Verify the spark plug has spark and if it does then have the carburetor serviced.

My Suzuki GS500 won't start.

First off, is the battery charged?
Batteries get old, and tend to not hold a charge like when they were new.
If the "crackling" sound you describe is a series of rapid clicks, this is a sign or either a low battery voltage, or a bad ground.

Speedometer not working on my 2002 jeep liberty.

The routing of the speed sensor wires is located on the rear differential. The problem is that they rub on the E-brake cable and once the wire is exposed they short and the speedometer and any other options running off the speed sensor quit working and that includes the transmission shift points and can cause the torque converter to not unlock and cause stalls. We went to a dealer and got the replacement kit for $32.00. He also took the time to encase the wires in a plastic tubing to avoid this problem again.

if its a cable operated speedo then the cable is probably busted it would be a cable coming out of the back of the speedo and going to the front hub assembly.

On the 2001 Suzuki GS500, yesterday the tachometer and the speedometer stopped working at the same time. Checked the wires, and haven't found anything yet. Anything else it could be?

Hi Brittany, check your instrument fuse if you have one and I am sorry you can't find the first and best tool you ever bought for your Suzuki but despair not for a mere $15.00 you can download another one. For more information about your issue, please visit the websites below. Good luck and have a nice day.
