Question about Suzuki GS 650 GT Motorcycles

1 Answer

My tiger shark starts perfect runs great but when you start away in the water you can go about 250 yards than the motor will bog down and will stay boggy until you let off the throttle. as soon as you come back to a idle it runs great again and will go 250 yards again. not much fun. i checked for cracked fuel lines. checked seals and gaskets. checked fuel pump made sure fuel tank is venting all is good it is a 650 Suzuki not sure of year

Have you checked the water filter to see if it is plugged with weeds. If the engine is over heating it will drop to idle automatically. If the filter is clear there is a small cooling water elbow (90 degree fitting ) below the exhaust ports of the exhaust manifold. If a small pebble or piece of crud gets caught in the elbow your machine will continually over heat. Be sure you have a water filter on the machine and clean/clear it carefully so this is not a problem. If everything is clean/clear and you continue to drop to idle you may have a bad over heat safety switch( does happen but not to often).

Acqua water shark won't move

This action is a typical response to a drive motor unit with water intrusion. While the motor is probably not completely water-filled, the amount in there gets circulated when the motor first starts and the internal motor circuitry detect the water and shuts down the drive motor as a safety feature.
I was able to take apart my drive motor on another brand, dry it out, and reseal the casing using silicone rubber.
Drive motors are expensive, but generally, still a good value compared to buying a new unit. If you can repair or replace the motor yourself, it becomes economically feasible.
If you do repair the unit, always be vigilant and remove the unit as soon as it has done its job. Water pressure is always trying to push water into the sealed motor units, and over time, it WILL get in...so let your robot dry out between uses.

The first thing to check would be the compression. As long as both cylinders are with in 10 psi of each other you should be okay. Both cylinders need to be at least 100 psi. That would be the minimum for a motor to start and run. It should read aprox- 150 -- 165 psi. Also i would check for a possible exhaust leak, that would cause the motor to bog down because the carb is breathing in the exhaust fumes. Try running the motor with the hood up to see if you have a leak.

Was the store able to scan the motor to pull out operational info? Was it water tested prior to being returned to you? Perhaps the store will make accomodations to get it returned and repaired correctly?

I have a 97 ram an it dont want to start when it rains or anything like that. i put a hair druer under the hood an it starts after about 15 mins or so. what could it be?

You obviously have an exposed electronic somewhere. The best way to simulate the problem is to get a misting spay bottle and fill it with water. Start the truck and spay down anything that looks electronic one at a time, as long as you stay away from sending water down the air intake you will not hurt anything. Motors are designed to be water tight. Things I would aim for are the distributor and coils first. You may have a crack in the cap. The coil should be on the front right side of motor. The other likely thing is the throttle position sensor located on the side of the throttle body. If you wet something down and the motor bogs or dies you have found your culprit.

Craftsman aircompressor bogging down

Yes , the check valve will cause this. The check valve has a flat disk with a spring that holds it down that the air passing past it erodes away till it leaks then the air that the piston pushes into the tank does not stay in the tank but returns right back into the cylinder and puts a load on the piston. Also makes the compressor hard to start back up if it does get pumped up. Some have a dump valve that drains the pressure off the head after they shut off so it can start with no load. So if there is air bleading back and leaking at the pressure swith that will be a for sure sign it is the check valve.
