Wonder if it has a cutoff valve? Did you forget to turn gas back on? Happened to me more than once. Any way won't hurt to ck.

Cranks but will not start


There should be a bike equivalent of an alternator providing power to the bike. Sounds like it died. In a car (where I am getting my idea from due to lack of bike experience), the battery starts the car, the combustion rotates the engine which turns the alternator which charges the battery and provides electricity to the vehicle.

Cutting out while riding


I have a bike that at one time I'd be riding along, and the motor would die, and all lights and instrument go out, as if I turn it off with the key.

Turn key off, back on, and all would be fine until the next time.

It turned out to be a bad ignition switch.

You need to check your charging system, if your stator is bad your battery will not charge. As far as it shutting down while riding that sound like you have an intermittent ground, so check all wire connections.

04 Gsxr600 jerking and engine dies after riding for awhile.


I have an 05 with the same problem. Sounds like your STVA went out. Do you still have your butterflies wired open? I know how to repair the stva fixed mine, and saved hundreds....if your still on this post email me so we can get our bikes fixed. also check your kick stand sensor! This can malfunction and cause same stalling problems.

Bike starts dies then wont crank overuntil i lift the gastank


Hey pal, i got a feeling it's nothing like you think it is...the tank shouldn't lift without removing the bolt or bolts that hold it down...also many bikes have wires that run down the frame under the tank and here i where i think the problem lies....remove your tank completely, fuel lines, fuel guage wires etc... and set tank aside....now carefully inspect where your tank has been vibrating and rubbing on the wires, coils etc that are located there....take your time here as you will undoubtedly find a wire or connection that the tank has been rubbing on and now causing a short circuit......mend,repair, and insulate anything that has been damaged..then carefully reassemble and enjoy your ride....Good Luck to you friend.....Tim

While riding my yz 125 it just died and won,t kick up again


  • If a hole in the piston then install new piston and rings. Next, clean the carbon off the head and install a new head gasket.
  • If cylinder wall is scared the piston has seized up. Pull the cylinder off and take it to the dealer. Have them bore the cylinder and return it along with a new oversize piston and rings.
  • While at the parts counter, get a new stock spark plug and a supply of Yamalube Two Stroke Motor Oil. You need to add 4 ounces per gallon when filling up. This will be a 32/1 gas to oil ratio. NEVER ride the bike without at least the needed 32/1 mix.

Breaking Down


The problem may be a pinched fuel or vacuum hose, or a weak/collapsed vacuum hose. The problem may be varnished fuel/carburetors.

It may be an electrical problem: loose connector or defective conductor.

I cannot help you other than this without having the Duc and performing a few tests. The Monsters are fun to ride.
