The carb jets and settings are reliant on it supplying the correct air fuel mixture, this doesnt change by riding in the woods. But can be affected by altitude and air temperature.and engine temperature.
There may be some small jetting adjustments necessary but it will depend a lot on the terrain and riding style

There are flywheels available which are heavier and help considerably in the low to mid range, with out sacrificing the top end power and will help with what you are asking.

Remove the stuff you don't want to be broken > turn signals, tail light assembly, mirrors. Leave the carb alone. Change to a larger rear sprocket. Add 10 to 16 teeth to it. Now the engine has much more torque to pull up a hill. > please rate my answer >

Ktm 125 sx 2003 idles but wont rev up

your pilot circut is clogged. Take out your pilot jet (this is the jet closest to the cylinder) Be sure to spray carburator cleaner thru this jet until the stream is heavy and solid. Next insert the tube from your can of carb cleaner into the hole the jet was in and spray until it comes out in two locations in the carburator. One in the throat of the carb and one directly under the front edge of the slide. Go to the back of the carburator and you'll see a couple of holes at the bottom edge of the carb that mounts to the air box. these are vent holes. Spray cleaner into them and find the hole that vents the pilot circuit and insure it is not clogged. Once all of these are cleaned your bike should run as if new. Good Luck.

KTM sxf250 06 Having trouble undoing nut on clutch hub is it normal thread anticlockwise?

Normal thread. Might need an impact wrench if you've never had the hub off. Just put the bike in gear and have someone hold the rear brake then the impact wrench should get that nut off nice and easily. All the best!

I have a 91 ktm 300 exc and it bogs down and dies when i isnt choked and at a low rpm

Your carb needs to be cleaned. More specifically, the pilot jet, but if it's clogged it'd be best to go ahead and clean the whole thing.

Remove the carb from your bike and then remove the bowl from the bottom. You'll then be looking at the jets and float valve. The jet causing your issue is the smallest one. Remove it and carefully spray it out with carb cleaner. Then hold the jet up and see if you can see light through the hole and that it appears clean and round-meaning no obstruction left. Locate the mixture screw on the outside of the carb. It should use a flat screwdriver. First turn the screw in and count the number of turns. Then remove the screw, followed by the spring and ,if applicable, a small o-ring. Spray through the hole and make sure it goes through and comes out somewhere. Replace the screw in the reverse order and set to the original setting you counted in the beginning.(rough estimate is 1.5 turns out. Cleanliness is the key to the carb working. So keep it spotless inside and reinstall. This should take care of your problem.

KTM 520EXC Starts with choke but you cannot take off choke

well you hit it right on the head there,, its the jets in the carb blocked up,,strip down carb and clean out all the jets with carb cleaner and compressed air dont go poking any thing into the jets as you will distroy them that way,,, another way of clearing the jets out that you could try first is,,,take off the air filter and start the engine up on choke in needs be,,rev the motor up high and slam your hand over the carb intake,,removing it just before the motor cuts out do this a good fuw times and it some times??? only some times clears the carb jets out for you

Ive just had e new vhm head on my ktm 125 and need to now the mixer screw settings as the bike is spluttering in the gears with 2 stroke

Fitting a new head will not give spluttering in the gears .Your problem will not be anything to do with the mixer screw .check your carb jets for blockage .

2005 KTM 450 EXC throttle bogs! Badly! Warm or cold if I nail the throttle it bogs WAY down until I let off, then she wails. The bike has been well taken care of and the motor is bone stock. I too was...

if its bogging that badly i think it may be the jets in ur carb take your carb off and blow through the fuel line and giv a proper clean it may help your problem

I have a 02 kx 85 when u ckoke the bike it runs choke off bike shuts off

The choke allows more fuel. I would guess that you have a plugged jet in the carburator. Remove it and go through it all to make sure all passageways are clear.

Ktm 530 /08 model has 88-100 miles on it i cant keep it running, wont start wont kick ,some times i can kick and then use electric start, if i turn it off battery seem dead, 3rd battery ,dealer is scra

This is obviously a problem in design of the bike. Weak circuit board design creating a shallow spark or mis-timed spark, OHC timing far too radical, carb design not compatible with the bore of the bike, factory valve angles out of whack, something, or several somethings have converged in this bike. Does your state have a "Lemon Law"? Many states have this and it forces the dealer to refund your money or replace the bike. Contact the KTM Corporate office > > KTM-Sportmotorcycle AG
