Well, have you checked all the fuses and I mean all fuses. It sounds like one of you main fuses just before starter solenoid, the ribbon type is not delivering to the starter motor. Check it first.

1999 cougar, brand new battery and terminals. It will not turn over. It won't even click anymore.

1. Make sure your battery is fully charged.
2. Check connections from battery to starter relay.
3. Make sure you have voltage going to the start side (small wire) of the relay with the key in the "start" position.
4. If you don't have voltage going to the start side of the relay (small wire) with key in the start positon, then your starter switch is faulty (under dash usually mounted on top of steering column).
5. If you have voltage to the start side of the relay (small wire) with key in start position, and it don't click when trying to start your car, then the starter relay is bad.
6. If your starter relay clicks, but engine don't turn over, then the starter is faulty.

My 99 mitsubishi galant won,t start battery is brand new and it still won't start it clicks like the battery is dead I even tired jumping starting land it still won't start

either you have a bad connection to your battery or,, you have a bad starter. no other solution. if it clicks when you try to start it and the batterys fully charged, you're getting fire to the starter and it's trying to start, but the starter bendix isn't kicking out.which means it's a bad starter. thank you for choosing fixya.com

Model 917.273372 will start-up on a fully charged new battery but after running for an hour or so will not start-up(no clicking sound)I checked the fuse & found it OK. Have to recharge the battery to...

When the engine is running check the voltage at the battery. It should be over 13VDC or the battery is not charging and will go flat. The battery is charged by a stator under the flywheel and either the stator or the magnets on the flywheel have gone bad. this can be checked with an electrical meter as well. Stator output should be 13 or 14VDC on the red wire the orange or brown wire is for the headlights. All voltage checks should be tested with the engine running at wide open throttle. If it checks out start tracing the wiring harness for loose plugs or broken wires.

94 z wont start

You will have to check, at the starter, for power to the SMALL wire on the starter solenoid (which is on the starter) when turning the ignition switch to start.
If there is power to this wire ( usually purple ) and power at the LARGE cable ( from the battery ) at the starter end.....you need a starter.

If you do not have power at the small wire at the solenoid with the key in start position and battery power is OK.....check the safety neutral switch.Moving the shifter around a little can sometimes allow the car to start if the neutral switch is worn.

A new battery does not always mean a fully charged battery.
Try a boost from another car before testing the starter for power.

The battery cables need to be clean and tight....and check the ground to the engine as well.

Everything else may work OK with bad connections, they don't use the power the starter needs to turn the engine over.

Starter problems

Try to check battery. If it is fully charged it might be still starter.
Beacause you used rebuilt starter. For most Acura, Honda, Toyota
using rebuilt starter is not appropriate as it wont do the same job as brand new. You have to use brand new.
Good Luck

Hello
Trace the battery cables back sounds like something is loose like the ground to the engine or the power cable to the power distribution box

Battery losing charge

If its pushing that much current into a fully charged and brand new battery it is over charging and collapsing the cells in the battery.
