Check your clutch plates, it may be slipping at higher RPM on low gearing but have enough contact area on lower RPm higher gearings. Good enough to rate this advise?

its just the fuel injection, the ecu is second guessing what u want to do and if revs are near or around start of rev range it'll wanna pull then realise u want consant speed. my bandit 1250 is the same. stage 2 holeshot tune up includes removal of said butterflies and eliminates the problem. my friend has this bike and the same issue. fuel injection just isnt as smooth as carbs but still better in my eyes.

Check coolant level to make sure it is full. Low coolant can cause surging idle. Also, check throttle plate for dirty/coking causing minimum idle to be affected. If throttle plate is dirty, clean with carb cleaner and retest

How to easily unstick a motorcycle clutch after a lay-up

The easy way to unstick the plates of a motorcycle clutch after it has been unused for a while is to put the front wheel up to a wall at 90 degrees to it, with both wheels on the ground
Get some intrepid friends to steady the bike for safety if you wish
Brace yourself for a big lurch
Start the bike in neutral, hold the rear brake on (if possible) & then with some revs, CLUNK the bike into gear, this shocks the plates apart
Then off you go

Motorcycle loses power and just revs when accelerating

the problem is not your tuning, it is your clutch. Motorcycle clutches are maintained as light as possible to stop heavy pressure on your fingers. often when you increase hp, you must increase your spring pressure on your clutch plates so the first thing is to adjust your clutch, if it is too tight it will slip under load (more load = more slip). second, clutches do wear out so if adjusting does not work you will have to inspect your clutch plates for wear and may even have to increase your spring pressure, this is a big job and you will need special gear to do it

surely the bike is fuel injected, which might mean the fuel pump is playing up , which could be a pressure sensor in the system, you might need to get the computor scanned to see whats faulty

Bike surges at all speeds, not sure if its a fuel issus or a clutch issue

Surging is usually a fuel problem. To prove it, put the bike in one gear lower than the top gear. You didn't say what year or model bike you have. If it's a five speed, put the transmission in fourth gear. Do a full throttle roll-on acceleration with the transmission in that gear on a long uphill grade. If the engine RPM's climbs suddenly and drastically without the speed of the bike doing the same, it's a clutch slipping problem. More than likely, you are feeling the surge due to a lean fuel air mixture. This makes it very difficult to maintain a steady cruising speed in all gears.

Good Luck

I guess youwillhaveto adjust the clutch cable so as to open the plates more at the pressure plates to let the clutch plate rotate freely instead of binding thus the low rpm.
Hope this helps!
