There is a short in the wiring from the switch that must be touching the frame possibly near the steering head, perhaps the wire loom is pinched in the steering stop

660 raptor wont start

If when you hit the button you here a solid knock followed by nothing it is quiet likely that it is the starter solonoid try tapping the solonoid lightly whilst pushing the starter button if this frees the starter I suggestyou remove both the starter &solonoid strip & thorougly clean them both N.B use only electrical contact cleaner or white spirit for this most other products will leave an oily film not condusive to good conductivity. If the problem continues to reoccure & free up with tapping the solonoid its a safe bet the solonoid is about to turn its toes up for good these thing can only be resurected so many times hopefully its just dirty & all it will cost you is time

2 possible issue, your starter solenoid and or your starter relay.

i would not taket the last owner's word for it, even the bike does not agree it is new.

Have you checked the voltage on the battery? If it is lower than 10 volts it needs a recharge and it should go to 12 volts. It wouild be good to do a load test on the battery because even if it reads 12 volts, it may not have the proper current to start the bike. If the bike still just clicks, check all of your battery cable connections. If they are all good, the starter solonoid could be malfunctioning and the starter needs to be replaced. If you can start the bike, check your alternator voltage at the battery and it should be about 13.8-14.2 volts. Hope this helps.
