What causes generator not to turn on?

Much times there is an oil level protection activated between the motor ignition.
Or the oil level is to low or its damaged (little change but ?) disconnect it only for a short test period only after controlling when there is realy enough oil insite.
tankfilter nozzle float chamber airfilter , sparkplug , ignition coil , electric field. electronic voltage regulator , a cilinder valve problem and many more . on/off switch dirth .....

An ignition system is a system for igniting a fuel-air mixture. Ignition systems are well known in the field of internal combustion engines such as those used in petrol (gasoline) engines used to power the majority of motor vehicles, but they are also used in many other applications such as in oil-fired and gas-fired boilers, rocket engines, etc.The first ignition system to use an electric spark was probably Alessandro Volta's toy electric pistol from the 1780s. Virtually all petrol engines today use an electric spark for ignition.Diesel engines rely on fuel compression for ignition, but usually also have glowplugs that preheat the combustion chamber to allow starting of the engine in cold weather. Other engines may use a flame, or a heated tube, for ignition.

Can't seem to see where the oil pressure switch is on my 1988 chevy pick - up 1/2 ton 5.7 liter. Need a diagram or picture to see where it is exactly

Hello: The oil pressure sensor is at the rear top of the engine near/under the ignition distributor, has one electrical connector. You may have to remove the ignition distributor to get to it unless you have a special oil pressure socket.

Generator starts then instantly stalls

If your generator has an oil pressure or level sensor (sending unit), trying to operate the unit off level or with low oil will trip the sending unit and shut down ignition. If the sending unit is bad, it will shut down the ignition. This really applies to those units that have electric start where the start button bypasses the oil sending unit for pressure. Low oil sending units typically don;t let it start at all.

Engine lost all power going 55 mph, check engine light and oil light came on, checked oil level and was good. will not crank at all.

The mechanic should check and repair or replace, worn out or destroyed or burned and loose wire connection parts on the electrical system of the car . from the ignition switch , ignition coil, rotor coil , the starter motor solenoid , the wire connection and the fuses.And check the battery if worn out or corroded ,then clean and repair the battery. The water solution should be check also if not enough water solution then add. If the water solution is dirty then replace water solution.The spark plug should be check also if there is an electricity passing to it if there is no electric passing . then check the spark plug if worn out or corroded , then clean or replace spark plug if needed to be replaced. then check oil light and oil level if needed to be adjusted .Then adjust the check engine will light because of there is a problem in the engine which it can't run because of lock of power. If the problem is in the engine the engine will install . since the problem is lock of power then it is the electrical system of the car. Don't forget to check the sensor its important too.

Oil where spark plugs go?

For the oil it seems like head gaskets need replacing. As far as the electrical issue, sound like you may have a damaged wire from the ignition to the starter, I would try to trace the current to all electrical components; battery, starter alternator and see if you can find the area of the bad wire.

1992 VW Polo 1.3L Coupe: warning light mystery

Bought a very reputable diy service manual for the vehicle, and that plus a bit of thought and nous gave me the cure: no intrinsic problem other than loose relay connections. Went round with the wiring diagrams as guide checking all electrical connections in tight and relays fuses etc all good. Switched on and no problem any more.

By the way, vehicle is 1992 VW Polo - not Fox (which in UK is a variant of the Polo)
