I have filled the water reservoir several times a week. There is no leaks what could be wrong and where could the water be going?

Check the oil fill cap to see if there is any water or antifreeze leaking into the oil through a bad gasket in the engine. To much water getting into the oil will ultimately cause your engine to seize, ruining your engine. A light tan substance on the underside of the oil fill cap also is indicative of water getting into your oil.

What is the check gauges light

CHECK GAGES light (1) indicates a potential engine failure(low oil pressure, low coolant, coolant overheating) has occurred.
· Check gages and shut down engine. Gages should read as follows: Oil pressure 5 to 10 psi (34 to 69 kPa) at idle; Water Temp gage below 230 degrees (110 C).
· Check engine oil level (Para 2-11) if OIL PRESS gage indicates low reading. Check coolant level (Para 2-11) if Water Temp gage indicates high reading. Notify Unit Maintenance if levels are low.

If CHECK ENGINE light (2) is on, check engine oil pressure gage (3) and water temperature gage (4). If both indicate normal, proceed with mission and then notify Unit Maintenance. If either one does not indicate normal, stop engine immediately and notify Unit Maintenance

Engine shut down on freeway. Good battery, low oil but engine not seized, start relay clicks, but when key turned, nothing-headlights don't dim, idiot lights don;t dim, Nothing. 1997 Toyota Tercel

low oil boiling water sometime automatically stop the engine for further damage. stop the engine wait for sometime. fill up oil/water. check fuse/switches for engine/lights/dimmer. re start.

Engine light is on and engine oil and water are

the engine light is to tell u something is wrong with either the emmission system or driveabilty of your vehicle,i would suggest getting it scanned at a local shop or dealer to identify the problem, over time a small problem can become a large one and depending where u live it will not pass inspection with that light on,hope this helps

Engine lost all power going 55 mph, check engine light and oil light came on, checked oil level and was good. will not crank at all.

The mechanic should check and repair or replace, worn out or destroyed or burned and loose wire connection parts on the electrical system of the car . from the ignition switch , ignition coil, rotor coil , the starter motor solenoid , the wire connection and the fuses. And check the battery if worn out or corroded ,then clean and repair the battery. The water solution should be check also if not enough water solution then add. If the water solution is dirty then replace water solution. The spark plug should be check also if there is an electricity passing to it if there is no electric passing . then check the spark plug if worn out or corroded , then clean or replace spark plug if needed to be replaced. then check oil light and oil level if needed to be adjusted .Then adjust the check engine will light because of there is a problem in the engine which it can't run because of lock of power. If the problem is in the engine the engine will install . since the problem is lock of power then it is the electrical system of the car. Don't forget to check the sensor its important too.

Engine seized no oil did not get check oil or check engine light

The oil pressure warning light only comes on when oil pressure drops below 4psi at this moment there is no oil in the engine most often it does not get to this point because oil, water etc is checked every week. It could be your engine was using oil which would point to an engine fault.

Engine problem.

Hi Michael,

The motor shut off and the engine light came on, you won’t start right away and you wait a couple of days and start it again, sounds like your engine was over heated and because it is too hot and the engine frozen.

There are several kinds of engines, water cooling ,oil cooling and air cooling.

Over heated can cause many different problems for the cars, you should check step by step yourself.

Water cooling engine; if you know, you can help somebody.

1. Check the radiator see if you have enough coolant
2. Check the oil see if you have enough oil
3. check the water pump see if the water pump works fine
4. check the thermostat see it is function right.

Suppose your radiator has water or coolant, leave your radiator cap open, start your engine, let it is running 10 to 15 minutes and wait it is getting hot and see the water in your radiator, if the water moves, that means your cooling system works fine, otherwise either the thermostat frozen or the water pump was broken.

You mentioned when you re-start your car, sounds like a diesel engine, please check the where the noise from, if the noise from the water pump area, that means you need to change the water pump. When you change the water pump, change the thermostat at the same time, because when the engine over heated, the thermostat maybe damaged.

Oil cooling engine, check the oil pump. If the noise from the oil pump, you need change it.

Good luck,

Frank
