Most commonly a dirty air filter. Also check your plugs. If they are black, your mixture is too rich. Fouled plugs wont burn efficiently and are cheap to replace. Hopefully no one altered the exhaust of aircleaner without the correct download

Hi, Paul if your battery is more than 4 years old it may have enough voltage but not enough amperage to start the bike I would recommend having it load tested, for more information about your issue and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the blue links below and for more specific information or questions at no charge please feel free to contact me at xlch@mail.com. This is quite common on these fuel gauges. Harley fuel gauges are not that good in my opinion. I can send you a troubleshooting guide for the gauge. Your layout may be different but the principle of operation is the same. Contact me at wd4ity@bellsouth.net Don't forget to remind me of what you need.

You're asking at what age the teeth start to fall out in a woman.
It completely depends on the care that was taken throughout it's lifetime.
Some women never lose their teeth because they care for them all their life, others have dentures at 20 years old.
Mileage on the bike is irrelevant if the engine was properly and regularly maintained.
If the seller is confident in the condition of the engine, he will give you a WRITTEN WARRANTY on the bike.
I would tell him that you plan to drive it back home, and at the extreme least, have him guarantee that the engine will last for that trip.
Personally I would ask for nothing less than a 30 day warranty.
If the seller is unwilling to provide any kind of WRITTEN warranty, I would be VERY leery of making the purchase, especially considering how far you need to ride it to get it home.

I would measure the battery voltage with the engine runnig at a fast tickover and then say 2000 revs. If it exceeds 14 volts it is cooking your battery. Replace the regulator.
Ride safe and enjoy.

My wife has a 2009 Softtail Delux. When we fill the gas tank and then ride it, gas runs out aroung gas cap onto tank and onto rider. I have tried not to fill it all the way and it still does this. It seems...

I don't know if there's a recall on this but it sounds like your gas cap is not screwing all the way down to get a seal. There are right side and left side caps on her bike. The right side is the vent cap. Someone may have put a vented left side cap on her bike. Gas cap swaps or thefts are common because there's no way to secure them. Don't ever buy a nice set of billet caps as they might not be on your bike when you leave it unattended the first time.

Harley FLSTI 2006 all electric power switched off

It sounds like the main circuit breaker is tripping for some reason. This is the way a circuit breaker works. When the maximum current flow rating of the circuit breaker is exceeded, it will trip and break the circuit stopping all current flow. After a few seconds, it will reset itself. If the max current flow is exceeded again, it will do the same thing.

Have you added any additional accessories to your bike, lights, radio, cigarette lighter power point, etc.? If so, disable everything and see if this eliminates the problem. Then start adding them back into the circuit one at a time until the problem resurfaces. If this proves to be the problem, you've overloaded the current handling capacity of the bikes wiring. You'll have to let something go in order to reduce the load. Do Not Install A Higher Rated Circuit Breaker as you will burn you wiring harness up.

Good Luck
