Have you tried adjusting it up at the throttle on the handle bar? move ruber dirt protector and with bike running just loosen the nut and screw in to idle down and re-tighten the nut. this should work....

Hey Anon,
Cleaning a carb is not an easy undertaking,, there are several tiny passages, tiny jets, and the needle/seat assy, If you are not trained to know these.. you may not get the carb as clean as it needs to be... Install a new spark plug... a new air filter.. and get a qualified pro to clean and set the carb.

I just purchased a 2005 Yamaha YZF600R with 500 miles on it. More often than not when at idle or coming to a idle from riding the rpms when shoot up, revving itself to redline for no apparent reason. ...

Hi, David and the usual suspects are:
1. Throttle cables improperly adjusted, pinched or need lubrication.
2. Idle adjusting screw needs to be backed off.
4. Air fuel mixture adjusted too lean start with 2 full turns.
5. Intake system air leak.
6. Fast idle choke ramp is not releasing.
7. Broken throttle return spring.
8. Damaged diaphragm or slide.
9. Faulty MAP, TPS, ATS, O2, sensors or wiring/connector

Well have you checked the throttle cable connection, are they tight or you have some free play? Ensure your throttle return spring is correctly pulling the throttle back .
Your problem is mainly a stuck cable.

Yamaha banshee will idle beautiful.but when u give it gas fast or slow it bogs down...i cleaned the carbs and ive tuned the **** out this thing.in a turn out half turn in 3/4 turn all night and cant get it...

This is an easy one - there is a mouse nest in your airbox or in the muffler. To find out disconnect the exhaust at the cylinders and start and rev the engine - if it is OK its in the muffler. If it still bogs take the airbox and filter apart and clean them out.

I have a CRF100F that has a flat spot in the carb if you try to crack the thottle to quick.I have taken the carb apart and cleaned it reajusted it I have even changed the low speed jet from a 35 to a 38...

Sounds quite typical of a small four cycle engine; twisting the throttle open rapidly just leaves them gasping for air. The best you can do is make sure that the basic state of tune is correct (clean air filter, valves adjusted, timing set correctly, etc.). The changes you've made to the jetting and the throttle needle sounds like you're going in the right direction - and may help. But don't expect too much.

Idles at full throttle

Be sure the throttle cable is routed correctly and is not being stretched. When disconnected from the carb, does the inner throttle cable operate freely? Lubricate it. Also check that the cable connections at throttle and carb are seated properly. Does the slide move up and down freely? Remove the air filter and twist the throttle while looking inside the throat of the carb. LIGHTLY seat the throttle screw and the air screw then open each of them one and one half turns outward.
