Well, the oldest manual I have handy is for a '94, it specs:

Front sprocket nut 84 ft lbs
rear sprocket nuts 43.5 ft lbs
axle nut 72.7 ft lbs

Older manuals spec 67.5 for rear sprocket nut, this was changed to 43.5 due to the large number of problems with stripping nuts/bolts.

Check here to see if your bike is listed, that may help:

I have a suzuki katana 600 1998 and the problem is the chain wobble left and right? the other problem the chain gets tight and loose when it is in neutral and its being roled down?

hi,sounds to me like you have a bent sprocket or worse a bent counter shaft, check the rear sprocket first, get the rear wheel off the ground(centrestand will do),find a block or something, place it beside the rear sprocket, using the block as a rest ,hold a ruler about a 1/4 inch off the sprocket and check the runout by simply spinning the back wheel, the gap between the ruler should not change by more than about 1/2mm to 1mm around the entire sprocket,if it does then it needs to be replaced,if the sprocket is running true, remove the engine cover over the front sprocket and repeat as per the rear sprocket, also look for any up/down forwards/backwards movement in the countershaft,i hope it is the rear one that is the problem as it will be relatively easy to fix,if it is the front(doubtfull)and the countershaft is bent then it will be quite expensive to repair...note a countersahft can be bent by overtightening the drive chain, when the suspension moves rather than the chain taking up the movement(which it is supposed to do)then the chain will pull against the counter shaft and bend it,or the bearing will fail (more common) or crack the crankcase..hope this helps...cheers

WHAT SIZE PITCH,CHAIN/SPROCKET FOR GSX750F AND CAN I GET MORE SPEED BY CHANGING NUMBER OF TEETH

Chain size should be a 530 link. Going smaller on the rear gives more speed, but less power!!! Going bigger on the front gives more speed also.
Keep in mind that one tooth bigger on the front sprocket is equal to 3.5 teeth smaller on the rear.

Vacuum line not connected correctly

ok fuel fill lines are the 2 lines between carbs 1 n 2 and 3 n 4 toward the rear of the bike the 2 hoses coming out just in front of them are float bowl overflows that just get criss crossed over the carbs and ran thru the little holders on the frame. the only vacuum line is coming out of the side of carb 4, this line goes to the nipple on the petcock facing away from the knob. as for the fill lines the 1 between 1 n 2 goes to the nipple facing the rear of the bike and 3 n 4 goes to the 1 facing the front of the bike. hope this helps here is a link for a free service manual download. http://www.files.michaelmcmahon.org/1988-1997-GSX600-750-1100F-R.pdf try using www.katriders.com it is a lot more helpful than this site for katana issues.
