Yes, your battery is dead. Now, the question is why. When you get it home, I'd take the battery out and take it to an automotive parts store and ask them to load test the battery. If it checks good, proceed.

Reinstall the FULLY CHARGED battery in the bike. You will need a DVOM (digital volt ohm meter) to test the charging system. Put the meter's function switch in DC VOLTS, 20 Volt range. Start the engine and bring to a high idle. Put the red meter lead to the postive battery post and the black meter lead to the negative post. You should read 14.5-15.0 volts DC.

If not, look down on the left side of the engine and find the wires that run from the voltage regulator to the alternator behind the engine sprocket in the primary. There will be a round plug in the wires, unplug this plug. You'll be working with the wires that come from the engine.

Put the meter's function switch in AC VOLTS, 50 Volt range. Look into the plug coming from the alternator and you'll see two metal contacts. Start the engine and bring it to a high idle. Stick on meter lead into one metal contact and the other meter lead into the other metal contact. It makes no difference since we're measuring AC voltage. You should be reading at least 25 volts or greater.

If not, the stator is bad. If you are reading correctly at the alternator but wrong at the battery, the regualator is bad.

Good Luck

Hopefully, you'll find that the wires for your regulator just came unplugged but there's the troubleshooting info anyway. Check the grounding on your regulator as well. They should ground to the frame via the bolts that hold it on the frame.

    Good Luck

My son has a Derbi Senda city cross 125 2008 today he went to work and told me that fuel was spilling out of his tank, he left the bike over night in a garage near work, went to garage tonight with fuel...

NEVER jump a car to a motorcycle.. WAY TOO MANY AMPS for the electrical system.
Was it spilling out of the top, out of the petcock,, ??? Does he mean the carburetor is leaking all the fuel??
Take it to a qualified professional and have them clean and set the carburetor.

Sporster speedometer keeps cutting out

First thing to check and is usually the problem is the Negative battery terminal on the battery. When they come loose they will start arcing as well and will build up carbon on the battery connection and the connectors hooked to it. If it is loose, check and remove any carbon build up on them (chip, sand, file, grind, etc. etc.).

My ER5 Clicks instead of turns on

Check if the battery has 12 volts.
Check the battery terminals if they are corroded with acid deposit. Clean them if they are, by using a wet sponge, wet it with water and let it stay for a while on the terminals this will ease off the corroded acid deposits.
If the battery is ok and if there's no acid deposit on the terminals , thn you have to check the starter motor, it may need to be overhauled.
Better too to check the solenoid switch.
Hope this helps!
