The secondary main jet (125) goes into the jet needle holder in the center of the carb (needle). The primary main jet (75) is between the secondary main jet and the pilot screw (this one is slightly off center) . The start setting for your air screw should be 1 3/4 turns. Warm up your engine and drive for ten minutes. Adjust your idle speed to 1100 + or - 100 rpm. Now turn pilot screw in or out to get highest idle speed. Readjust idle to 1100 rpm. Now turn pilot screw in till idle speed drops 100 rpm. If pilot screw seats go to next step. Adjust the pilot screw out 1 full turn from 100 rpm drop point. Now reset Idle to 1100 rpm. That is how Honda says to set your air screw. Standard setting is probably sea level and going through the procedure will set you up for the altitude where you ride. Do the adjustment during good weather at the altitude you plan to do the most riding.

Replacing a 4k carb in a 5k engine

Larger car engines require a larger fuel intake Nd thus a different jet in the prim/ sec of the carb.

Acceleration is too slow from 0 to 25 mph

i would assume that your engine still runs on carburetor. have your primary jets(in the carb) replaced. normal carb primary/secondary jetting for 1.6cc engine is 105/135. primary jets basically is responsible to acceleration, secondary jets are for speeding.

Have a 90 corsica...fuel pump is fine...****** is fine but wont go over 35 mph...acts like its not getting enough fuel...please help

1st, try to ask a mechanic to check if the timing of your engine is correct. the timing might be a little "delayed" so the engine cannot work properly on high speeds.

is your engine still uses carburetor? if yes, replace the primary and secondary jetting of your carburetor. normally, the standard primary/secondary jets for a 1.6cc engine is 105/135.

if your engine already works on direct fuel injector, replace injectors with bigger size. go up 1 size at a time.

i believe the culprit here is the timing in your engine.

I have a 1982 Pontiac Trans Am, everything is basically stock on the car besides my K&N filter, magnaflow exhaust, and edelbrock valve covers. It is equipped with a 4 barrel carb. My problem is that...

That carburator most likely has vacuum secondaries, meaning that the secondaries won't open until there is enough vacuum for them to operate, usually mid or full throttle. You can try to operate them by hand to confirm that the shaft isn't stuck.

I mixed up main jet with secondary jet.Which one is which?

the main should be slightly smaller than the secondary, so when you crack it to full throttle when overtaking it's not starving.

My son has a 1986 honda 70 four wheeler and it will only run if the choke is on. It doesn't smoke at all but will start up and only run with choke on. why is this ??

Time for carburator clean up.
The jets needs good blow out with compressed air, both primary and main jets and check the float level too.
Hope this helps!
