Pontiac grand am se 1997 wont start engine light stayes on even if i crank it security light stays on also abs

Abs sensor could b the culprit.

That is ithe abs sensor wire. The ecu of your car is reminding you of possible danger

You have to leave the key in the ignition in the on position until it stops flashing . . usually about 10 minutes or so . . .I have had this same problem several times already. If it is dark the light stay on . . But the computer has to clear the alarm. Hope this helps

When you just turn the key on, can you hear the fuel pump running? You are not getting any fuel.

is the security light flashing? If so try turning the key on for ten minutes than try to crank the engine. Try this three times if no start turn the key on for thirty minutes than try cranking the engine. It should turn over if not You may need a new ignition switch. Or key. I need more info after you try this.

ck engine light,,depends on what side of instrument cluster the light on,,one for engine & ones for other system failure ,,abs light on mean that ur abs is in op,,if u have a chance to take ur car to advance auto or auto zone,,they can scan ur car for free & let u know whats wrong,,hoped it helped

The system resets every time you start the car. If the ABS light stays illuminated then you have some sort of fault.

Try checking the starter solenoid wires.Make sure the wire hasnt come loose and the battery to solenoid cable is tight.
