I'm using a the stock o-ring gasket, the thermostat housing gets thin after a couple of hundred miles as if an abrassive is being passed through it. I have changed it three times, flushed the water jacket and radiator and replaced the coolant each time.

You are not describing how the unit is breaking. One of the things that I suspect is over torque when replacing or failure to align it correctly. There is some info on the unit here:

Hi luke. Check the rest of the cooling system. Consider flushing it out.
You must have a partial blockage somewhere. J.

Broken hose smoking and running hot

could be a few things from just a bad hose that gave up, to a stuck thermostat that caused a pressure rupture in the hose.
Running hot would be bad water pump or thermostat.
(also a fan not working)
I would replace the thermostat and hose and test it out. (cheapest route)

If you still have issues, the water pump would be the next item to replace.

Smoke engines

Smokes can be of three colors.
1. White smoke.
Excessive white smoke reveals presence of water in fuel, thermostat valve stuck open, or burnt cylinder head gasket.
2. Black smoke.
Black smoke could be observed due to the unburnt fuel or higher percentage of Hydrocarbons during the combustion process, defective regulating valve, ruptured PCV valve, low fuel pump pressure, defective charcoal canister, ruptured or leaking fuel injectors.
3. Blue smoke.
Blue smoke reveals the engine failure.

How to back flush heater core 2007 grand prix

drain coolant system locate heater cores hoses going through firewall you need to buy the radiator flush kit at any auto parts stores. remove heater cores hoses from one end or buy extra long heater hoses same size as heater core hoses in vechicle at auto parts store use the flush kit when you flush through one of the heater core hoses let the other hose drain in a drain pan when you use home garden hose use low water pressure dont use garden hose to the max or you will rupture heater core. your best bet let radiator shop flush whole coolant system. because heater cores hoses are in a tight spot.make sure engine off if you just going to flush out heater core only .after flushing heater core good time to replace heater core hoses.if job too hard or complicated let radiator shop flush out radiator the engine block and heater core because if radiator stopped up or engine block stopped up the gunk and rust will reenter plug up heater core.if you tight on money you can flush out your own radiator.drain out radiator using large drain pan. remove top radiator hose and remove bottom radiator hoses connect to water pump.use garden hose with flush kit part with water pressure not too high put garden hose to top radiator hose run water until clear water run out bottom radiator hose in drain pan,the flush out engine block remove thermostat.if you had another spare thermostat housing with RTV SILICONE SEALANT THAT HAS SET UP INSTALL THERMOSTAT HOUSING BACK TO ENGINE WITHOUT THERMOSTAT FLUSH OUT THE ENGINE BLOCK, WHEN DONE INSTALL NEW THERMOSTAT THEN INSTALL ORIGINAL THERMOSTAT HOUSING WITH NEW ORING WHICH YOU BUY AT DEALERSHIP.IF ALL SOUND COMPLICATED LET RADIATOR SHOP FLUSH OUT COOLANT SYSTEM.

Hello
Three blinks of standby light to Sony TVs indicates that the regulated voltage output from power regulator board is above thatn normal. The problem is with its power supply regulator board. Replace all the electrolytic cpacitors on that board with new ones. Replace all of them including small and large ones, at one time. OK.

Electrical cuts out and inagain while running repetatively

Check battery connections first. If they are tight I would look at the connector at the ingnition switch. I've had a few where the pins were not seated or locked in the housing all the way.

Thermostat housing leaksput sealer new thermstat main housing lea

Simple fix..... Just need to replace the gasket. Go to your local auto parts store and get a new gasket for your year, make, and model of car. Should only be $5 -$8 for the gasket. Take the housing apart, 4 -1/4" bolts, I believe, take them all the way out. Take the housing off, but be careful not to lose the thermostat, as it just sits in there loosely. (You will also lose some fluid from the radiator, so you may want to place a catch-pan underneath the car where the antifreeze will spill). Next, you will have to scrape the old gasket off both sides of the flange using an old putty knife, razor-blade scraper, or even sandpaper. Then just fit the new gasket in so that the bolt holes line up, and bolt the flange back in place. Don't over-tighten the bolts due to they are under quite a bit of heat and pressure and you don't want them to rupture. Good luck.

Collant leak 98 olds intrigue

Follow the main hoses that run from the radiator to the engine. There will probably be a upper and lower. One may have blown off or ruptured. Lots of light will be necessary. Alternately, to try and get a better idea of where it is leaking have someone with old clothes and saftery glasses watch the engine bay when the car is running. Make sure all clamps are tight on the hoses as well.

Doesn't keep the temperature . When you open freezer there was a lot of ice on the coil. After we remove it with hair dryer, it was OK for aweek and the problem repeted again.

good day,
This indicates the automatic defrost system has failed. The defrost system is made up of 3 parts, the main heater, located behind the rear panel in the freezer compartment, the defrost thermostat located in the same area, and a defrost control that initiates defrost cycles, Either a mechanical, or electronic located in the fresh food compartment.
You need an ohm meter and electrical savvy to test these components.
If not, they can be removed and taken to an appliance parts house to be checked. Must take complete model number with you.

You can go here to see a detailed explanation.
