10w40 motor oil goes in the gearbox. NEVER use synthetic oils or oils with " Special " additives. Synthetics and additives can swell ( or shrink ) the cork on the clutch friction plates. Swelling causes the clutch to grab and fail to dis-engage. Shrinking causes the clutch to slip or not engage at all.

How do i change transmission fluild an filter

Hi J, Clean the whole area around the drain plug and oil pan. Drain the fluid from the drain plug at the lowest point of the gearbox oil pan. When drained into the required receptacle, remove all bolts around the oil pan and drop it. The oil filter is located inside and held in place by fixing bolts. Remove those and replace the filter. This job requires the utmost cleanliness, and no contamination should be allowed to get inside the gearbox. Refit oil pan using a new gasket and refill gearbox to required level. Always check the gearbox level with the engine running, the selector in neutral and the park brake fully engaged. Regards John

It dont want to go into drive and when you stop it dont want to gear down to 1st

If you talking about an automatic gearbox issue, then first check your gearbox oil level and colour. Anything resembling brownish red is dirty oil and should first be replaced. You can also remove the gearbox sump and replace the filter in case it is blocked. Failing this as a remedy, your gearbox may require replacement.

The clutch of my dt125 is hard to sqiz, is it the

Disconnect the clutch cable at the side case. Now try the lever. If it is easy then the problem is not the cable. A short handle does make it harder to pull the clutch in. Get a new lever and hook the cable back up to the side case. If the clutch lever is still hard to pull in, try changing the gearbox oil. Dirt and grit can build up and cause the clutch to become stiff. If an oil change doesn't fix the problem after riding for an hour, get back to me by posting a comment.
