Question about Yamaha TT-R 250 Motorcycles
The noise you hear is from an out of spec rocker.
The good news
This part only cost $40 USD.
The bad news
Yamaha only made this between 1980 to 1982.
There is one in eBay (USA).
I attached a picture for rocker and part interchange information for your reference.
Part Number 52R-12151-00 became 99999-01443
FITS Following Models:
1980-82 SR250 and Exciter
When you deal with bike with little to no repair history,the first thing you should do is an oil and filter change.
A bad seller will use a heavier weight oil to mask the engine noise.
The total oil capacity for oil + gearbox is around 1.5 liter.
I recommend you to use synthetic oil like Amsoil 10W30 motorcycle oil
