Question about 1985 Honda GL 1200 Aspencade Gold Wing

1 Answer

I have a 1985 honda wing interstate or aspencade? I am trying to clean out the carbs from setting 8 months. I have used sea foam and b-12 in the gas with only partial results. It sounds like a carb is still gummed up as the idle will go down to 500 then eventually die. I have adjusted the idle screw all the waY without any results. Any more ideas without taking the fairings off? Thanks, Steve

The only fix is to remove the carbs, disassemble them and clean them out.

Hi, Darren the answer to this question is way above my pay grade and for this situation although my gut says yes, I would call my local dealer or reputable shop's service/parts department and inquire about any possible quick fix, answers, or parts inquiry.

I own a 1985 Honda Aspencade limited edition fuel injection and I need a crank sensor (no more available at dealers) part number 30300-MG9-951 Where I can get it?

Hello,

Most places I get parts from say the part is obsolete but, I found a website that usually carries the part. Click here to go to the web site. The part is currently unavailable, but if you contact them regarding the part, I'm sure that they will be able to help you.

I added a picture of the part, below, to help you determine if it's actually the correct part.

If you find this information useful, please vote. Thank You.

1985 goldwing limited edition fuel injection

Try the easy method first. Run some seafoam through the carbs. Follow directions for mixing it into the gas.
If that doesn't work to fix it, it is time to pull the carbs and clean them meticulously. Don't be surprized if you have to rebuild them or replace a few parts. This could cost you up to $250 per carb.
Or it might cost you the price of a can of carb cleaner. If you have the money, or are too skittish have a pro do the cleaning. If you have a clue and like a challenge, there are many websites that explain to you how to clean your carbs.
Good Luck.

1986goldwing will start and idol but when you give it gas it dies

BO, to check the fuel pump, disconnect the line running to the carbs, then start it up , to see if it is pumpping,if it is that means your high speed jetts might be stopped up, if you do not want to take them off to clean them, poor some SEA FOAM in your gas tank ,and let set there and run for a bit. It might smoke but after it stops ,it will be cleared up,
