Bikes leaks badly thru the air breather (blow by). it starts at 73mph and really gets bad at 75-80mph. It doesnt leak below 70mph even for a long distance run. I already changed the entire breather system and the mechanic cannot figure it out!!!

On a revtech 110 why is oil blowing out the breather tubes and head?

Hi, Chasity oil leaking from your air cleaner is caused by oil carryover from the engine. For whatever reason, the breather system is not separating enough oil mist and air from the piston downstroke. There are cheap and quick easy fixes and there are more expensive ones. First, make sure your breather hoses are not dry and cracked if they are ok you can start by trying the following:
1. Run your oil level half way between the add and full mark when hot.
2. Run oil breather lines from the head into a TEE fitting below carb/induction module then a single line into a mini filter under the frame.
3. Purchase Arlen Ness Super Sucker.
4. Replace umbrella valves and realign oil pump.
5. Upgrade oil pump and cam plate.

I think it is a slow leak. It will not get cold. I went to dealer. Service wanted $100. to start. It will turn on and blow air.

you have some bad o rings in the system. IF you charge the air it will blow cold but doesnt last that long? you need to find the leak first then repair as needed. or check you ac pump

1994 Kawasaki ZZR-400 Leaks oil and doesnt start sometimes.

that box is called the air box, its where you engine breathes in its air. you say its leaking oil? these boxes are normally a bit oily but only really surface oil. If you can actually see liquid oil you have a problem with your petrol shut off. When the bike isnt running petrol will leak into the engine through the piston. When you start the bike all the petrol mixed with the engine oil will be pumped back into the air box. also check the level of the engine oil, if too much has been put in there then that can also be pumped back into the air box. If the petrol and oil has been mixing you must change the oil as petrol thins the oil and your bike could catch fire, the engine wear will be really bad.

Oil blow out the breather

This is a common problem on all sportsters, they have an oil blow by that dumps it into the air filter. I have found that if I run about a half quart low the problem goes away.
