Question about 2006 Ducati 999 R Xerox

1 Answer

My 2005 Ducati 999 when is up to temperature the engine will not rev past 6500 or 7000 rpm, if I open the throttle it revs fine up to that rpms but then it stalls and the engine feels like is starving for fuel, once I back up the throttle then everything runs normal. Can you help? Thanks

Buddy...I'm sorry say to this, but, you might need to buy a re-flashed ecu for your bike. I just got my 06 999 out of the shop with the SAME exact problem you have. It's a dangerous problem as well. I've tried everything, and the problem persisted until we decided to bite the bullet and get the ecu. Cost me $550 just for the part, plus some good hours of labor for that and miscellaneous other things. But for now, the bike seems to be running perfectly. I feel your pain, brother.

Engine cuts out when hitting 6500 rpm?

I would expect for that to be the rev limiter. This is a protection against the engine coming apart when REXING the engine too high without a load. I hope this video helps.

I have a few questions for you. 1. Have you owned the bike since it was new? 2. Have you been able to rev beyond 3500 rpm prior?

Po113 is the air temp code it was not transferred from old air cleaner po102 is a air flow code set from over oiling the new filter. the engine still will never rev over 3,000 rpms due built in rev limiter to stop over reving with no load.

1997 acura cl 2.2 revs up to 1500 rpm and down to 1000 rpm just several seconds after start

Cars are design to run at a higher idle at start up to warm them up quick. There is a sensor that reads water temperature and tells your car's computer how fast to idle. Your RPMs seem slightly high but not out of the norm. Does idle ever drop to around 600/800 after about a minute? If not, your engine temperature sensor maybe defective.

200 Pontiac Grand Am over 3500 RPM loss of power

on almost all gm cars after 96 the engines were governed to not free rev over 4000rpm. when in gear and power braking the rpms stay lower cause of the load on engine. when reving above 3500 rpms the computer cuts back the timing and fuel to reduce engine damage if left to free rev. hop that helps.
