This is caused by an air leak between the carb and the cylinder. The un-carburetored air leans the fuel mix. Replace any rubber seals and rubber manifolds. They get hard and do not seal out extra air well. Be sure hose clamps are tight. You didn't say what year and model the bike is. Getting parts for older bikes can be a problem. If the dealer doesn't have the parts, try the website below. Please rate my answer. Thanks.

How to start yamaha yz 400f?

pull the choke out, make sure fuel is on, DO NOT turn the throttle before starting. now you have to make sure the cylinder is at the top of the stroke, give the bike a couple short, easy kicks your not trying to kick it over yet, you are just trying to get the piston to the top of the cylinder, as your givivng it the short easy kicks, you will notice that the kick is getting shorter and harded......until you are at the top of the stroke....now it is ready to kick over, hold the hot start lever in about half way to release some compressionand give it a hard strong kick, if it doesnt start on that kick, make sure you are at the top of the cylinder again and when you are, give it another strong hard kick all the way to the bottom, when it starts immediatly release the decompression lever or you could do damage to the valves. relaese the choke, you dont want to leave the choke on too long because it is a very rich gas mixture and will eat the oil off the cylinder walls after a while. and DO NOT high rev the bike until it is warm, because you need to make sure that oil has gotten to the top end. it isnt a 2 stroke, ya cant make her screem right away.

It is a 98 kx60 it is really hard to start and it dosent seem to have any power up high or down low.is this because it needs a new top end?

Yes. You need a new top end. Being very hard to start, and having no power, sounds like you have no compression left. You need a new Piston Kit. Wiseco make one for your model.
This is a very high reving little bike, the piston and rings in them dont last very long.

Parked bike. next day when tried to start ,kick starter locked up ,after talking to a shop i opened up cover on lt side and turned engine over with a socket, but after a few kicks it locks up again .bike...

Most likely, you have a top end failure(piston/cylinder). Once you disassemble the top end, be sure to check for signs of loose or shattered bearings in the bottom end. Often, this can be the actual cause of the top end failure.

Wr250f 2001.riding bike reved and stopped wont kik properly

if this is a two stroke, then if you have run it out of fuel, there is no lubrication for the piston and you may have damaged the piston or piston rings, check the compression, esay test is remove sprk plug pit your finger hard into the hole and crank the bike over,if your finger gets pushed off with loud crack sound then compression should be ok,but if it doesnt and the preesure is very weak then you will be looking at a top end rebuild, hope this helps

2005 ktm 450sx not starting

I also had a bike rebuilt on the top end, which also poped when kick starting. I thought it was going to start, but never did. I used a compression tester gauge on it and found that I had 60psi instead of 100psi. I had it rebored buy a different shop and they informed me that the last shops equipment bored the cylinder oblong instead of cylindrical.
I was out the money from the first shop but I did get it fixed. Hope this helps

Kickstart problem

Hi crazy

Your bike has an automatic de-compression lever that helps when starting. This mechanism will make it feel like the bike has low compression. If it is maladjusted, it may be causing the problem

check here for adjustment procedures to be sure that it is set up correctly.

Other than that, low compression pretty much means top end rebuild.
