How do I change my oil on my 2009 FLSTN

Begin with the bike at operating temperature. Remove the dipstick from the oil tank. Remove the drain plug underneath the bike at the front of the oil pan. It is a 5/8 bolt with an allen hole in it. Do not remove the plug that just has an allen head! After the oil is drained, replace the o-ring on the drain plug and reinstall the drain plug. Remove and replace the oil filter at the front of the motor. Replace the oil (3 quarts). Reinstall the dipstick. Start the bike and check for leaks at the drain plug and oil filter.

Taking the motor out of my dirtbike

The motor mounts at 4 points-cylinder head, 2 under the front of the motor, and the swingarm pivot bolt. In order remove- seat, tank, rear subframe, exhaust.Remove the motor mount at the rear of the head, leave the throttle cables on the carb, unplug the wires to the TPS and remove the carb.Bag it and tie it up out of the way. Remove top bolt of rear shock and the swingarm bolt, pull the entire swingarm and suspension back as far as you can-you'll need the room to back the motor up a little to get it out of the frame. Unplug the ignition wires, and remove the last 2 mounting bolts from the front of the motor thru the frame. from the left side of the bike, back the motor up and rotate the front toward you and it comes right out. Actually took a break from installing a fresh Honda 250 R motor to write you this tip! Good luck!

I want to put shaft to my dr 650 rs, did i have to open the engine completely to pu it

No, only the top engine mount and Cylinder Head Cover need to be removed.

First step is so set motor at Top Dead Centre and remove top engine mount from bike.
Next remove cylinder head cover, the rockers will come off with it. Take notes and number the Cylinder Head Cover bolts as they are of differing lengths and must be replaced in same place with appropriate oil sealing washers on some.
Next slacken camchain tensioner and remove camshaft sprocket bolts. Note placement of steel half ring and rubber end cap. Pass a tie or wire through chain and attach to frame above to stop camchain dropping into motor...then you will have to pull engine apart.
Take note of sprocket alignment mark and remove the two bolts.
Lift off sprocket and camshaft.

Assembly is the reversal of this procedure.
