I just bought a 2003 Honda shadow 600 deluxe. they said all it needed was a battery. I put in a battery and it fired right up but only ran for 7 or 8 seconds and was hard to start again. After some tinkering it now starts up every time but only runs for seconds. When I got it the tank was bone dry, missing a fuel line, and had been in storage for 2 years?

It sounds like time to clean the carburetors. Just for fun, remove the screw on the side of the carb float bowl. Is gas even getting into the carbs? Check the fuel valve on the tank. Is gas flowing freely when the valve is open? I would install a set of new spark plugs and add an in-line fuel filter also.

I have a 1989 honda shadow 600 i can crank it right up and idles great but as soon as i give it gas it sputters and pops out the front head and if i dont let off it will die run seafoam through it and...
The jets are very small in the carb. Once you put seafoam in it you now have to pull the carb apart and clean it the correct way. The seafoam breaks up all the debris and gunk in the float and completely clogs the jets.

Cant find battery terminals for honda shadow vt 600
usually the battery is under your seat, but you can always put the bike in first gear, pull in the clutch push the bike and pop the clutch, should fire right up.
