I have a lawn tractor which accelerates on its own and the brake will not stop it-near miss last week-smashed into concrete wall to stop

Does the key stop the engine? sounds like the safety switches have been bypassed. If the engine runs while not sitting in the seat, the switches are bypassed.

How to bypass on off switch. the wire is still there but is there a way i can bypass the switch

Switcht probably provides continuity to a ground in the coil when set to off. So to stop grounding the wires do not connect at the switch. Bypass would be be simply snipping wires to switch. Now it will run always. Check it with a continuity before you do anything permanent.

How To bypass the Fuel Pump Relay

Don't bypass the fuel pump relay . power to the relay comes from the ignition switch on start cycle .when the engine is running the oil pressure switch takes over the circuit .so if you crash and the engine .stops so does the pump . If the fuel line brakes a bypassed pump will keep pumping spraying fuel and you could burn.

Engine shuts off when moving handles inward from the "Park" position to neutral. Will continue running if immediately put back in park. I just bought it. Used 4 times only. This problem started...

hi there

brian nave sounds like a seat switch problem , its making ground , kills engine

you mention runs if in park mode , are you sitting in seat when it does this ?

if so i suspect the seat switch may be faulty - try a jump wire across the connector at the seat switch - if it continues to run while not in park mode and blades engaged ,seat switch was your problem

if still stop with bypass wire connected - remove the wires from seat switch bypass you just fitted and retest

if unit runs as it should replace the seat switch as soon as can but leave the wires disconnected to get the job done

if this helps let me know

It starts with control set to max and it runs a couple of minutes and it stops so i turn the control to low and back to max it starts again and stops the same way the humidity is at 60+ so it should stay...

one of 3 possible problems, the control is faulty, you can bypass this with a jumper wire and see if it stays running, the condenser coil is dirty and is not cooling the compressor correctly and the condenser and evaporator coils need to be cleaned,i would do this first before bypassing the control, then possibly its low on refrigerant and the low pressure switch is shutting it down or the switch itself is faulty, please rate this if it helped you, thank you

My ac was working and then just stopped.

NO that means that the system is working properly. The switch is a low pressure swtich and it is in the open position because the system needs a charge, if you bypass the switch you run the risk of burning out your A/C compressor. The refrigirant is also a lubricant.

When you bypassed the switch what did you connect the wire to.
This is an earth wire, keep it loose and see if the engine will start, if it will,
touch the wire against the engine and it will stop. Stephen

Radiator fans

This is probably due to a short in the fan regulator temperature switch. I'd recommend finding it (it runs directly to the fans I believe) I know it does on the '01 beetle. However, a short will cause this as the switch bypasses the ignition and allows the fans to run whenever the switch can say to.
