Question about 2004 Harley Davidson XL 1200 C Sportster Custom
The speed sensor is usually on the rear of the engine back near the front belt pulley on the right hand side.

...more specifically, the speed sensor on a 2004 sporty is, (while astride the beast) to the right rear side of the rear cylinder, is oblongish in shape(like a typical bathtub), and is topped with a hex bolt...you'll likely be using a swivel headed screwdriver to get it out... For all their mystique, they could certainly do better in certain areas re design...jus sayin...
