SOURCE: clutch master cylinder rebuilt, brand new clutch

Hi there,
Some times the clutch systems needs a vacuum
pump to bleed the system up to pressure. Also
note whilst bleeding the system don't let the reservoir run out of fluid. Also check if there is any other bleed nipples in this system. They all need bleeding.Hope this helps your problem.

SOURCE: i have a 1999 tm 125 and the clutch needs bleeding

Best bet is to get hold of a medical syringe, sounds strange, but bear with me on this. Crack open the banjo bolt on the engine casing and let the fluid run out. Re tighten the banjo bolt. Disconnect the pipe from the lever end, this pipe should now be empty. Now this is where your syringe comes in. Fill syringe with fluid, and squirt it into the pipe, may take a couple of fills. When it is full, re connect it to the master cylinder (lever end) you'll prob have to take the lever off the bars. DO NOT PULL THE LEVER IN !!!! Open master cylinder, fill with fluid, close and try. You may need to do a little bleed again though. If so, fill syringe with fluid, attach a piece of regular petrol line to the end, connect this to bleed nipple on slave cylinder, and crack open (engine end). Open master cylinder cover (on bars), pull lever while injecting fluid. You should see the air bubbles in the master cylinder coming out. Once clear, lock off bleed nipple THEN release lever, close Master cylinder, job done. Sounds worse than it is, and after you have done it a couple of times, its really easy.

Cheers,

Hi im looking for clutch plates and basket that will suit a 02 tm 125 mx and want to know how much this will cost.

Clutch plates vary in price, but if i remember correctly, the TM uses the same as the KX and CR models. Last set i bought cost us 30 pounds. Baskets again vary, best to do a web search but your looking in the region of 100 - 200 pounds for a good one.

How do i adjust the hydrolic clutch on a 2003 tm 125

Normally there is no adjustment of a hydraulic clutch. The slave cylinder is driven the same distance each time the master cylinder is actuated by the clutch lever. Unless you have low fluid, I expect your clutch is slipping due to wear or weak springs or possibly due to additives that should not be used with a wet-plate clutch running in engine oil. Check your owners manual for oil recommendations to make sure you have suitable oil for your bike.

96 pathfinder clutch pedal has lost pressure,

usually when this happen you lost fluid pressure look for a fluid leak at the clutch master cylinder under the hood ,it should be by the brake master ,it has a small plastic tank on top with a black rubber cap or underneath on the transmission there is the clutch slave cylinder it will have a small 2 inch rod that pushes the clutch fork ,look for the rubber boot on it ,see if there is fluid coming out of it ,also follow the clutch fluid lines maybe somthing has damaged one and its leaking !

My clutch lost all pressure right after 100K mi

Like just about everything, it works till it dosen't. Things wear out...when the parts wear enough they no longer work Likely the internal seals in the master have worn enough to permit fluid to go around them instead of creating pressure to operate the clutch slave. when this happens, air can enter the system past the seals, which is why bleeding helped temporarily. The master is not difficult to change and should be bled after installing in order to get any air out of the line. (works exactly like your brakes but operates the clutch instead of a wheel cyl or caliper)

Clutch

Press the clutch lever in,  if it's soft it's still air bound and needs to be bleed.   Press the clutch in and it's hard but smooth, see if it's moving your cluth lever on the engine,  if not again try bleeding line till all air out. Press the clutch and everything external to engine is moving ,  you have internal clutch problems.
