Question about 2002 Harley Davidson VRSCA V-Rod

Just bought a 2002 VROD VRSCA with 360 miles on it. The valve stems won't take air, is there a trick?

I have a 2002 v-rod with 1133 miles on it,just started having idle problems with it.And when i take off it misses like starving for gas or like a miss,cant get the rpm's over 3500.Can someone help me out? thanks alot.

The O-ring from the valve stem cap is stuck in the valve. Take a pick and pull it out and you'll be good to go.

I would definitely go for the Harley recommended battery. HD has changed their sizes and you don't want a generic battery that doesn't fit properly or doesn't have the right amount of cranking amps

My 2002 vrod has started running rough when it gets hot. will backfire and stall. also doesnt like to start when itrs cold outside. it has after market pipes and a power commander on it. only has 14000...


Hi Michael, and the usual suspects are:
1. Spark plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
2. Spark plug cables in bad condition or leaking.
3. Spark plug gap to close or to wide.
4. Faulty ignition coil, module and or sensor.
5. Battery nearly discharged.
6. Damaged wire or loose connections at battery terminals,
ignition coil, or plug between ignition sensor and module.
7. Intermittent short circuit due to damaged wire insulation.
8. Water or dirt in fuel system, carburetor or filter.
9. Fuel tank vent system plugged or carburetor vent line closed off.
10. Carburetor controls misadjusted.
11. Damaged carburetor.
12. Loose or dirty ignition module connector at crankcase.
13. Faulty MAP, CKP, and or CMP sensors.
14. Incorrect valve timing.
15. Weak or broken valve springs.
16. Damage intake or exhaust vale.

idle air control motor is a common problem to check remove breather and filter (air) stick your finger inside top of induction moduler into little hole and turn key on the little plunger should come down and touch your finger
