You should check the wiring at the ECM while the bike is running, shortly after the code shows up. There is a chance that there is an intermittent short in the wiring that is causing the ECM to lose the signal or get a corrupted signal from the CKP.

Hi, Sylvain before testing any electrical component in the Starting System it is "IMPERATIVE" that you have a fully charged battery of 12.5 volts or more and be able to pass a proper "LOAD" test if necessary, you may have a preliminary reading of 12.5 volts or more but little or zero amperage, the battery is faulty and must be replaced. AGM type batteries fall into this scenario more so than lead acid batteries.
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter.
4. Bank angle sensor needs a reset or is faulty.
5. FOB battery low or dead.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand, clutch, neutral safety switch.
9. Security alarm needs a reset.
10. Starter relay, solenoid, starter motor or circuit wiring faulty.
11. Starter armature or field coils have failed.
12. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
13. Faulty ignition relay.
14. The electric starter is working but starter clutch has failed.
15. Check for engine trouble codes.

Harley trouble codes A1A9

For 2000-2004 Sportsters, there are only 7 different codes.
d01 - Speed sensor power output shorted low
d02 - Speed sensor power output shorted high or open
d05 - Speed sensor return shorted high
d06 - Speed sensor return shorted low
d08 - Speedometer power over voltage
d09 - Speed output shorted high
d10 - Speed output shorted low or open
I don't see your code here.

What wires do you check AC volts on to check the stator on a 200 400 aratic cat?

For AC stator test you always test between stator wires and be careful because the AC voltage is enough to kill you.

Speed sensor power output shorted low

Hi anonymous, start by removing ,cleaning, and re-installing the speed sensor making sure the wire harness is clean and has a good tight connection. Then go to www.officialharleyparts.com and download a wiring diagram for your year and model. Use a test lite and volt meter to check for continuity and voltage drop. Good luck

Lights flashing, bike won't start, accessory fuse keeps blowing

Hi Anonymous, you have a dead short some where. If your good with electrics get out your test lite and volt meter and start doing voltage drop tests and hot wire tests. Go to www.officialharleyparts.com to view a wiring diagram of your bike. then go to www.fuelmotousa.com/harleycodes.html and see if you can retrieve any trouble codes that might point you in the right direction. Make sure your battery has at least 12.5 volts and the connections are clean and tight. OR take it to your local dealer or reputable shop. Good luck

these sensors are in you vacume lines. You can tell which ones because they are thin black hoses with mulitple extensions on them. You are looking for components with electrical wiring running form the hoses to the vehicles "brain".
