Stock thermostat is probably 180, but could be up to 190 at times. Some bikes even run as hot as 200 or so, all depends on the type of riding you do, the outside temperature, and your speed.

Don't be concerned at less than 220 unless it's up there for extended periods, or if it stays below 170 for a long time and seems to be running differently.

I was practicing my wheelie and it started slipping on me not catching gear what is that part called so I can replace it is it a clutch plate flywheel or wat? I have a 2000 Suzuki 600 gxsr

It's called a clutch pack, friction disks and metal plates, be careful when taking apart and put the disks back in the EXACT same way you removed them, if you don't you could look at early clutch failure again...oh and FYI, while you're in there you may want to inquire to your local bike parts store about the possibility of putting a hi volume oil pump on your bike...if you're riding a lot of wheelies, you're starving your engine of oil every time it's frontend is in the air....and 600 gxsr's have a great reputation for blowing their engines and transmissions because they're being beat on.

The fan on my 06 gxsr 600 comes on when i crank it but then goes right back off an will not cool my engine I have checked the fuzes and they work what else could be the problem

    Hi,

The fan should not actually come on untill the engine goes over a temprature set by a thermostat,
when riding around normally the fan doesnt normally come on except when you are waiting at traffic lights or staying still,

You can test the thermostat just start the bike and let it idle the fan should start between 80degC and 90 degC if the engine temp goes over 110 -120degC and does not kick in there is definately a issue there with the thermostat, it doesnt sound like the wiring, fuses or relay as it runs for you sometimes.

    Hope this helps:)

What type of oil is best for my 2003 Suzuki GXSR 750?

Suzuki makes a synthetic oil for under $10 a quart. Make sure the oil you use is JASO MA certified motorcycle oil.Do not use any oil that is Energy Conserving it will shorten the life of your wet clutch and transmission gears. Synthetic oil will help the bike run cooler and shift easier in hot weather riding.

The gearshift on my 2002 GXSR 600 will only go to first and neutral.

You have a bent shift fork. Expensive to repair. Bummer. A bent fork will not move the slider gear properly and that is why the gears will not change.
