SOURCE: new stator cover bike wont start

useing a multimeter set to d.c check your charge at the battery whith out the motor running it should read above 12 volts determine the voltage stored in the battery with the meter stil conected hit the start button if the meter shows a dramatic drop in voltage its almost certain that the battery is shot howevwer if the voltage does not drop & it wont start bump start it conect the meter still set on dc increase the revs asyou do this the voltage should climb to 13.50 if it does & maintains 13.50 to 13.65 the chargeing system can be declared ok & you only need replace the battery however if it goes above 14 volts the voltage regulator is faulty & cooking the battery so you will need to replace both

Sounds like the connection behind the instrument cluster is loose, i had a customer with the same problem only on a 2012 camry and it turned out to be the connection on the cluster. I just adjusted the tension on the connection by bending the contact pins a little.

Gauges in my 1998 plymouth neon stopped working when i hit a bump

Sounds like an intermittent loss of power to the instrument cluster to me. Remove the instrument cluster and inspect the electrical connectors on the back of the cluster.

2005 Dodge Magnum low beams do not work

Obviously you have a connector which has come partially apart somewhere between the Headlights and the Headlight Switch. Most modern vehicles have several connectors between the Headlight Switch and the Headlights, Start at the Firewall Connector and work forward toward the Headlights making sure all connectors are securely mated. Another remote possibility is that you have fractured the "Low Beam Filaments" in BOTH Headlights. You don't mention how hard you hit the Speed Bump but if it caused the car to "Bottom Out" the front suspension it was a hard enough impact to fracture the filaments. You can use a 12 Volt Test Light at the Sockets for the Headlight Bulbs and see if you are getting 12 Volt power there. If you are in Low Beam position you have fractured the filaments. Check with High Beam too.

My yamaha r1 loses power (rpm guage go hay wire and then returns to normal) for a fraction of a second while riding. I don't know if its doing that when giving gas or hitting a bump. Sometimes if I am...

Sorry if my reply is late.
could be a worn ignition switch, this can cause the erratic gauges and the backfire.
If the switch iisnot making its correct contacts, it will cause voltage spikes that make the guage jump, and if the power doesnt connect for a second it will set the coils to fire and cause backfire.
This can also happen with a bad RH kill switch.
Also check all wiring plugs behind headlight

Dashboard control panel lights on 2001 Chevy Silverado go off. Sometimes they come back on when I hit a bump. Electronic odometer, Drive indicator lights go off.

This could be either a bad headlight switch or dimmer switch. Sometimes the dimmer switch gets dust inside it and causes these symptoms.

You will find that there is a relay behind the hazard warning switch that is faulty. Change that relay and everthing should be fine.
