With the bike held upright, the oil should be in the center of the window.

How much oil gsxr1300

on the side case by where you put oil in there is a number stamped that indicates the amount of oil the engine takes. if not then it will probably be 2500cc`s of oil. install then run motor turn off and check level. if it has a window on the case, then the oil should be midway in the window with the bike standing straight up.

How to check engine oil level and how to find good condiction?

On the outer casing of motor below where the oil is topped up there willbe a small glass circle. Hold the bike level or engage the rear stand and wait a few seconds and you will be able to see an oil level. This glass circle is a viewing point for oil level as opposed to a dipstick in a car.

Procedure to check oil level for RT1200 (police bike). Do I need to check the oil level when the bike is cold or after warm up??

Check oil when bike is cold...... here is the best procedure.

Ride bike (and enjoy)
Park bike on side stand, let sit for at least 10 minutes or overnight. (lets oil drain out of cooler into sump)
Put bike on center stand. Bike should be on level ground
Check oil level in window on lower LHS of engine.
Level should be anywhere inside of red circle in sight glass.
DO NOT OVERFILL let level get down to lower edge of red circle before adding oil

Good Luck!

Hi how do i check oil level in 1980 1100 goldwing

Place your bike on the center stand. Look at the back right side of the motor, you may have to get down on one knee , below the fill hole , and you will see a window. There is a bar behind the window , if the level is not below the bar you are OK. After an oil change the oil will be at the top of the bar. A flash light will aid in seeing the level. Drag Specialties at on time had a dipstick kit for the bike, but it does stick up (may get in the way)and is not necessary

I purchased a 92 katana gsx600f from a friend and I have a couple questions. one: when checking the oil does the bike need to be on center stand or side stand? When I have it on side stand the oil window...

To check your oil always have your bike upright and level. Using the center stand always makes for a quick level check before a ride. Some windows have a high and low mark on them, or a center dot on them for correct level, or a high/low bar behind the window to judge correct level. You may have to take your carburetors apart, clean and inspect them. Fluctuating idle is normally an air leak or improperly synchronized carburetors. Inspect your intake manifolds for cracks and separation , take off your carb tops and inspect the diaphragms for cracks, Inspect your float needles for wear, and make sure all the jets and passageways are clear. Check air screw settings and synchronize your carburetors(make sure that one carburetor is not set higher than the other three.) Your bike is almost 20 years old and cracking rubber is now an issue.

What is the oil capacity in the crankcase of a 1993 800cc intruder. How much do you fill it too? I stuck my finger in and got no oil and there is no measure dip to tell.

holds 3 us quarts of oil with a oil filter change or if the egine was complety drained after overhaul it takes 3 1/2 us quarts of oil.
To check oil look for a small quarter size window on the clutch case, oil level should fill half the window to be full.Bike must be held level while viewing window, not on kick stand.

Check the oil

There is a small glass inspection window on the lower flange of the clutch cover (r.h.s.)
Picture of part attached.

Leave bike to cool on the centre stand allowing all oil to drain to sump and inspect window for oil level. It should just cover the window when bike is level. If the window is blackened from oil stains and no oil movement is detected, drain oil, remove clutch cover and clean window from inside with solvent and replace, replace oil with 2200cc oil, Cheers.510a044.jpg

2003 vulcan 750-how/where to check engine oil level / noisy

there should be a little window just below the oil fill area that says high and low, that's where you gauge the level of oil you have. it's not a dipstick, and not very precise, but that's it.

Checking the Oil

Hi George,
Excellent description of your problem, I presume you are keeping the bike upright when checking the level on your dipstick?
I remember on some Honda's there used to be a Sight glass set in the Gearbox casing a small round Window with level marks up either side so when bike held upright the glass should be half full.
George! you should be able to see oil on the stick without running the bike so keep upright and top up as necessary.
Hope this helped, please remember to rate my effort?
