Second gear is jumpy... only second gear... why?

If by jumpy, you mean it pops out of gear, you likely have internal transmission damage. This is common in second gear as some riders will overrev first and slam second gear, causing damage to the gear dogs in the transmission.

The problem could be an air leak into the inlet rubbers. You could also change the spark plugs as they can sometimes break down under load ( such as accelerating) I hope this helps.

Sound's like your transmission is starting to slip... Without looking probably would say you're gonna need a new clutch......

No reverse and 2nd is jumpy


the seal inside the trans tore and is causing a internal fluid pressure leak,,causing no reverse and no second because they share the same seal,,your either gonna have to remove the trans and tear it down and repair it or replace the trans.

95 ford windstar jumpy when it is turned on or idleing.


You may have a Broken Motor Mount. If you have someone Rev it up a little while you look at the Motor, If the Mount is Broken the Motor will Move in one Direction or the Other. It should not move at all when Revved up. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!

alright. try cleaning out trans gears and replace your timing belt if your ign dont turn smooth thats probably the 'jumpy' problem
