Reply with your email address and I can email 5 PDF files covering the valve timing. The pages are from a Haynes manual. The manual covers '98 to '02 GSX600F, GSX750F ans GSX750.
Yes, yours is a '93 but you have a 90 percent chance that the info is the same. If the cams, sprockets, and marks don't look the same as what you have, then just trash the files and re-post. This is the best I can do other than suggesting you do a free download of the entire manual. The file will be about 65gigabites and will take about an hour to download. This file is not user friendly. That's why I converted the 5 pages to PDF. I hope the repairs go well for you.

How to aliane marks on cam shaft pulley on mazda protege 2002

1. Remove all spark plugs so that the crank shaft could be rotated easily.
2. Rotate the crankshaft to align the timing mark of the crankshaft gear with the index mark on the engine cover.
3.Rotate the crankshaft +/- 30 degrees to ensure that the valve could not hit the pistons when aligning the camshaft gears.
4. Align the camshafts as described below.
5. Align the crankshaft timing gear with the index mark.
6. Loose and lock the timing bearing at its farther position. Install a timing belt starting from the crankshaft gear, then right cam, then left cam, and at last the timing bearing.
7. Press and hold the timing belt to keep it firm on the gears and loosen the timing bearing. It will get adjusted by itself with the help of spring attached to it. Do not put extra force on the bearing to adjust it more.
8. Confirm the timing marks.

Need know how set timing on Yamaha v-star classic 2002

Ensure the line on the timing rotor with a T next to it is aligned with the notch in the timing window

Starting with the rear cylinder, ensure the camshaft locating dowel is aligned with the mark on the cylinder head at about 1 o'clock
Engage cam sprocket with cam chain so it will line up with the dowel & fit onto camshaft

The mark on the sprocket should now also line up with the other marks. Turn the cam sprocket clockwise to remove all slack in the chain, push against the runner through the cam chain tensioner hole to take up slack, this re-aligns all the marks

Bolt cam sprocket to shaft & fit tensioner. Turn crankshaft until the other line on the rotor aligns with the notch in the timing window
Repeat the above process for the front cylinder

I replace timing belt but cant set timing

Hi Robert, It would help to know what engine is in your vehicle? A rule of thumb way to set up the valve timing is as follows. Rotate the crank shaft until the crank shaft mark is about 90 degrees from TDC. This will protect the valves from damage when rotating the cams to align them. With the tappet cover removed rotate the cam shaft or shafts so that the number one cylinder is on compression (both inlet and exhaust valves fully closed) and the last cylinder in line on overlap, Look for adjacent timing marks on the cam gears and somewhere close to those look for the alignment marks (maybe notch marks, holes or indented match marks). (Some manufactures use the machined gasket surface where the tappet cover closes onto the cylinder head). Look closely for the static mark on the cylinder head and align the cam(s) to it or them. Once completed, set the crank at Top Dead Center and look carefully for a timing mark which aligns with the gear and set them. Fit the belt so the marks align when the tensioner bearing is released and presses the belt under load. (follow the manufactures recommended tightening instructions.) . (Remember never to crimp a timing belt, if it has been, throw it away and get another, even if it is new!) If the belt snapped and that is the reason for replacement, internal damage may have resulted inside the engine. A snapped belt may cause damage to the valves, the camshafts, the cam shaft caps and to the pistons. If the engine turns much faster than expected and sounds as if there is no compression, you have problems! (Those I've just mentioned. I hope not for your sake. best of luck Regards John

How to set the time belt?

4 Cylinder diesel(4JX1) :
1 - Timing mark
2 - Cam pulley
3 - HP Oil pump pulley
4 - Tensioner pulley

suzman_0.jpg

6 Cylinder petrol:
Align crank(C) timing notch mark (1) to oil pump mark.
Align cam pulley(L+R) marks(3) to cylinder head marks
The cam belt has 3 marks, 2 lines and one mark that is actually a row of dots. Align the dots to the crank pulley groove mark(2) and align the other 2 lines to the cam pulley marks. Using a clothes peg to hold the belt to the cam pulleys works wonders to keep it in place while fitting. Please note the arrows on the belt and have them point in the direction of rotation - right to left side of engine
W - water pump pulley
I - Idler pulley
T - Tensioner pulley.

If for some reason you need to realign the cams on each bank :
Standing in front of the car and starting from YOUR left , looking at the cams you should see RE, RI, LI, LE on each of the camshafts.(R for right bank, L for left bank, I for intake and E for exhaust) Right bank camshafts are marked with one dot, left bank with 2 dots on the shaft itself. To align the camshafts to each other each cam shaft gear has a mark on it. Draw an imaginary line between the centre of the camshaft and the centre of the pulley. The alignment mark should be between the two along this imaginary line. The result will be that RI an RE will be at the top of each gear. The same with the left bank.

2002 isuzu trooper want pull hat off your head timing belt marks are on mark. the motor will crank but do not have enough power to pull off. it is a 3.5 v-6 and computer code shows p1120 and p1334.

Aah I see. Let's start from the beginning then. It explains setting the timing further. Get these set up correctly and then we can dig further. I can post a diagram but haven't figured out how on Fixya yet.

How to set timming belt, cant find mark for crankshaft 3.0L

Timing belt removed, static timing was not set before removing timing belt.

[Set Static Timing:
No.1 piston is brought up to TDC before removing timing belt.

Cam gear has a punchmark on face of gear, and this mark aligns with one single tooth. There is a matching punchmark on the Timing Belt Rear Upper Cover.

Facing the cam gear, the mark is to the upper right. There is an 'egg shape' of the timing belt upper rear cover, in this spot. This punchmark is in that 'egg shape', and is close to a bolt hole. The cam gear mark lines up with the Timing Belt Rear Upper Cover, mark.

The crankshaft gear has a punchmark on the face. It lines up with one single tooth. There is a corresponding punchmark on the lower right side. An alignment mark)

Should be a round punchmark on the face of the crankshaft gear. It lines up with a single tooth. Wipe the gear clean, use a little carb cleaner. (NO flames, or sparks nearby, well ventilated area)

Barring you cannot find the crankshaft mark, find the camshaft alignment marks, make sure they are aligned with the alignment, (Punchmark), on the Timing Upper Rear Cover.

Count the teeth in the timing belt. There should be 133 teeth on the belt.

There is 43 teeth in-between the timing mark of the camshaft, and the timing mark on the crankshaft.

(43 teeth in-between the Right Side Camshaft mark to crankshaft mark, 43 teeth in-between the Left Side Camshaft mark to crankshaft mark)

There should be 40 teeth in-between the two cam gears.

Setting the timing in a 1993 subaru justy

If you are talking of the rubber timing belt setting then rotate the cam gear till the timing mark (small hole) on the camshaft gear aligns with the mark on the plastic cover behind it. Mark is on top of plastic cover (12 'o' clock).
Rotate the crank till the timing mark (groove, not the one for the crankshaft woodruff key) on crankshaft gear is aligned with the mark on the bottom of the plastic cover behind it. (6 'o' clock).
Tighten tensioner against timing belt rotate engine a few times make sure alignment of timing marks remain.
