If I'm not mistaking on that model if you hold the trip/reset button while the odometer is on the miles ( not trip a or b) for a few seconds it should go back to mph. Let me know if this helps. Chevy's can be done a couple ways. But I think for yours this is it.
if your burning oil then the only this to do is fit new piston rings or piston and liners in the engine as its too much oil for it to be the valve seals,,, mind you only 1 lt in a 1000km thats not that bad realy my old k75 uses that much in a lot less i would just keep toping her up and drive it,,,she will run on for years and years like this
there should be a menu button some where on the dash that will let you select it also it might have the gauge with both mph and km on it your owners manul should tell you how to change it
okay,for one,the odometer doesnt read in miles per hr,it reads miles driven, and two i have no idea if its possible to change the odometer to km traveled,if you're talking about the speedometer,its already there,get a european cluster :p
