Sounds to me like you crossed some wires in the process of you wiring the neon. The dominant wire always wins. Go through all of the wiring and make sure that all is hooked up correctly and that none of the wires are crossed. If i were you i would find the wiring diagram and run through the ignition. Best of luck to you! And those are nice bikes. :)

2007 xl7 suzuki wont start and says engine power reduced

does it click when you turn the key over, but will not actually turn over? if so this is a little sensor called an ignition module switch ( not sure the cost of your vehicle replacement mine for my truck was about an 80.00 fix) the other problem it could also be is the alternator.

I have a 2006 Suzuki GS500F the bike ran fine and started fine for 2 weeks after i bought it used, and it started fine all day until the bike wouldn't even try to start. I thought the battery was dead so i...

Hi, I would still suspect the battery. Lights and ignition do not really draw much current neither does the bike when running.. Your battery goes almost flat when the starter is engaged lots of amps are required. Try this check: remove the battery (undo negative lead first please) then connect a high wattage bulb across the terminals see how long it takes for the bulb to dim. If the bulb is still bright after an hour re charge the battery (please use a dedicated bike charger max output 1 amp). Re-fit the battery (connect positive lead first please). If bike still does not start check starter solenoid is activating it should click when you press the start button. Hope this helps.

2007 Suzuki GS500F, Starter problem

weak wires are sometimes the cause of loss of power,if they have been really hot from trying to start and become higher in resistance. looking at the ends of wires where connection are sometimes can reveal bluing of the copper inside (signs of heat). loose cable ends look good but dont perform well.Test charging system for proper charge output to voltage reg. and battery.Short tolerance to load under start conditions could be due to not being charged at high enough volts from charging system. (too many chicken lites or other stuff drawing current)

As soon as I start the gs500f a 20 amp fuse blows and I have no electrical power and the engine also shuts off

Sounds like time to remove the fareings, gas tank and seat.
There may be a loose somewhere on the bike. Remove the seat and gas tank to gain access to the wiring harness. Get a volt Ohmmeter as you may need to check continuity at various points. Start at the battery, then the fuses and the wires connecting to the fuses. Inspect for burned wires, abraded wires, loose and/or dirty connections, bad connectors and loose wires. This means the mass of wires inside the headlight must also be inspected. Check the handlebar kill switch and the side stand kill switch as well. Go all the way to the ignition system. Check the key switch. Put it on "run" and check for power through the switch as you jiggle the wires. A spark can blow a fuse. A hot wire thst is going to ground due to an abraided wire will blow a fuse. a bad electrical part like a shorted horn, headlight or switch can blow a fuse. Find the bad connection and you should be able to fix it.

Can I get a “very helpful” rating on this answer?
