If it's a crack from fatigue you'll need to stop it spreading, you can drilla hole at the end of the crack to do this, apply a glass fibre sheet or two to the back (over lay the area by about 2ins all round) to reinforce the fairing, on the outer side fill with plastic filler and sand before paint.

What is the best way to fix a large crack in a car bumper

Hey John, not a bad start ,your on the right track there are special fillers for over the plastic you can buy that stay flexable most regular body fillers are not flexable, do a search for plastic bumper repair kits and im sure you will find one and there not very costly, and there is a rubberized primer for the bumper so paint will stick and not peal off you can get that at most part stores.

How do you fix fairrings on a truimph tt600

depending on the damage cracks are easy take a soldering iron to the back of the crack and plastic weld the seem back together small dots 3or4 mm apart should be fine then take a suitable piece of plastic to reienforce the break flexable enough to mould to the contour i find plastic egg catoon it great as you can heat it up with a hair drier to mould to correct shape then use plastic bumper filler to fix it to the back remember if you are not going to see this side just rub down a little and piant if you can see it ie in the **** pit then you will need to do the best you can , now for the front plastic weld small dots again fill and rub down until you can just see the dots not to far the filler may shirink after primming check the repair and refill and redo if you can see any shrinkage .if you are going to paint your self then best go to an automotive paint supplier and have them colour match the paint take a part with you . if you are repairing holes use a thicker piece of plastic on the back fix this into place useing the filler then fill the front hope this helps

1998 ZX9R C1: Fairing damage. What do I fix it with?

ello mate,, well theres some basturds about ay,, this happened to me once,, any way,, to bond a crack or build up a hole, turn the fairing round so u r lookin at the back of it, rough the crack or hole up with some sand paper,, then get your self some fibre glass matting wad,,and some resin, and hardener, using scissors cut the matting out to shape mix up some resin and apply to the back of the fairing,, this is messy stuff ,,but will bond it well,,then turn it over ,,if u still have a visible crack and want to repair that,, then run a grinder down the crack ,,so it widens the crack just a bit ,,and fill it with isopon filler,, just the normal kind of filler, for dents etc,,
