You will not be able to use the serial number for identification. It only idebtifys the assembly plant and sequence of production. Your motor was the 177th built in that engine series.

The larger the gear on the engine shaft and the smaller the gear on the drive axle the more speed you'll get, I hope you're thinking about top braking power for it as well lol good luck.

Wiring diagram racing banshee

The best thing to do would be to get the diagram for a RD/RZ 350LC and the diagram for your KX and use this for comparison. There is no such thing as a "Banshee" diagram. It is a custom built motor, made using a Yamaha RD LC engine.

Modify

I assume you want to modify the engine for better performance, i.e. a quicker, faster bike. The only thing that will really make a difference is to install a race cam. Other modifications such as a foam air filter, re-jetting the carb, running a streight pipe exhaust, gas additives and hotter spark plug are just smoke and mirrors when compaired to a race cam.

Your little 110cc can probably match a stock 150cc if you have a race cam. Yes, you will need to re-jet the carb to match what the cam puts out but re-jetting is a simple and cheap process. The custom cam will cost $200 or so. Send your cam in, they rework the cam faces and send it back. If unfamiliar with cams and cam shaft timing I suggest you have a shop do the tear-down and re-assembly.

Contact Web Cam Racing (1-951-369-5144) in California and they can fix you up. I guesstimate $200. plus shipping both ways. www.webcamshafts.com

What is weak points with xs750 motor what do i need to look out for Ray.

XS750 early ones had trouble with piston rings and big ends, this was modified petty qiuck. preimary drive is by hy-vo chain, these wore out in a few thousand miles reulting in horrible vibration, chains were replaced under warranty. gear box bolt used to fall out sending you from top back to first, modified tab washer fitted under warranty. to tell if warranty work was done, dealer should have stamped two dots/punch marks in front of engine number. primary chain was modified 4 times, part number has 04 on the end. big problem now is that these were discontinued by Yamaha several years ago.... no chain....no bike! USA models had lower tune cams, UK were higher spec. engine is heavy and not much power, but a triple is the best sounding thing there is.

1985 Yamaha Maxim XJ700 not starting

It seems the float chamber of the carbs are not getting enough fuel (gas).
Try to check this first by opening the carburator float chamber drain screws....thn select the petcock to 'prime' positon and see if theres fuel running out of those drain screws freely. If not thn it time to clean the carbs.
Not bad too to remove the spark plugs and clean them and regap.
Hope this helps!

Trying to find year of yamaha mx80

I would suggest calling Yamaha customer Service (if you're in the US, the # in the US is 800-962-7926) and ask them for help in identifying your bike. I called them on Friday and they were able to tell me what I had within a couple of minutes.
