The older laser player/burners may have used a different angle for the read/write service. It is like a phonograph needle sitting in a groove that tracks the data as it pans the surface.
Try to COPY the CD/DVD to the desktop if you can. If you know the OLD player worked, use that to COPY the Data to your Current computer desktop and then copy that back to new CD using the new hardware.
DVD burner or writer is a device where you can write a blank cd or dvd for data, music and videos format and also you can play or read your favorite cd or dvd mp3, audio cd and videos format. For burning you must have nero, alcohol and other burning application. In windows xp, vista and 7 are already included, simply drag your data or files you want to burn to you cdrom drive with blank cd or dvd. Then there is a button burn, click that button to write the files onto your cd or dvd. Have a nice day!
Quite often a hard disk will not write to some disks, Try changing to another brand of disks. You may have to try more than one brand untill you find one that works with yours.Hope this helps you. Regards Bill
Go to dell.com, click on support, enter model number and operating system. This page will bring up all the drivers for your computer. Download the one for the DVD player.
You need to try a commercial cd of any kind. You just want to see if it reads the cd. Then you want to try a dvd and see if it reads that. If it reads the cd but has trouble with the dvd then the heads are out of alignment. It might still write a cd but not be able to write a dvd as that require more accuracy and it doesn't have it anymore.
You may still be able to use the drive but you will have to replace it. The symptoms you describe are typical of the driver going out of alignment so I would say you are heading for replacement sooner or later.
These are not cost effective to repair anymore so all you can do is replace them. Unless you can get it replaced under warranty you can replace it for under $50 at any local computer store.
dear, when you write the CD from DVD then you misplace one or more files,,,,when CD is write then one software is used for writing purpose... so you can write another CD using some software....
You might try cleaning the drive with a common CD/DVD player cleaner kit. If that doesn't work, then, yes. Most IDE DVD burners will work. I recommend Lite-On for price and quality. I this is a laptop you'll probably have to find the exact models compatible with it from the manufacturer and the search for a replacement with them or a reseller online somewhere.
your cd drive lens may be damage and lens preset will be not currect position so if you want to repair you cd drive then you have to turn your cd drive lens preset to currect position.
