SOURCE: The check engine light on

Error code 24 is a faulty oxygen sensor -- a relatively cheap fix. Incidentally, a faulty O2 sensor is the most common cause for a steady "Check Engine" light on any vehicle. Your V-Star is just courteous enough to tell you exactly what is wrong.

Yup, it's an electrical problem due to the moisture. Start by checking all fuses and then one by one every wire connector. Remove, clean, dry. Dont forget the ones under the seat and inside of the headlight. If you put a little dielectric grease on the contacts, then snap them together, it will prevent this from happening again---good luck.

I have an 04 Honda Sabre 1100 that does the same thing. If the rain is steady, it will actually die. After you come to a stop, it will start right away and run ok for a little while until you get up to speed in the rain and will die again. Very frustrating. Can't see any shorting when viewing in dark conditions. Bike shop also couldn't figure anything out. Any ideas?
If I figure anything out, I'll repost what worked for me.

Hi, Saisoku this happens to a lot of bikes and different brands it is usually caused by water getting into the fuel system and/or moisture getting to electronic components, wire connectors, wiring harness. This situation usually clears itself by letting the bike sit for a couple of days in the sun. For more information about your question please click on the blue links below.
