My guess is u have ur lines mixed up. Two fuel lines from carbs to opposite sides of petcock and vacuum line from right side of carbs goes to backside of petcock. All of the other hookups are breathers and vents.

If you have spark at the right time, compression, and fuel, you should have combustion.
Was it running before you had the work done ?
Is it possible the distributor timing is off ?
You know for sure the plugs are firing, not just the coil ? And the accel pump in the carb is spraying gas ? And the choke is closed ?
A major vac leak like the PCV valve hose or intake gasket could keep it from starting.

replace the fuel
clean the carbs
change the oil
new plugs
clean air filter
check the valve clearances( if any are really wide a valve may be stuck open)

93 Suzuki Katana GSX 600 fuel issues?

You need to check and see if you are getting fuel from the tank into your carbs, if you pull the line that feeds the petcock valve off the top gas should come out. If it doesnt there is a clog in your tank. Now pull the line off the bottom of the petcock valve (this feeds your carbs) and make sure you have fuel at all setting of the petcock valve except for off. If you dont then you probably have a bad petcock valve. If you are getting fuel from the petcock vavle into you carbs then there is a problem with your carbs.

If you take the fuel bowl drain screw out of the carb (located on the bottom). Gas should run out of the associated carb, if it doesn't, then you have something stuck in the carb and one carb not working correctly can make the bike not run. If you find this to be the problem get a can of carb cleaner, take the fuel bowl drain screw out and let the gas run out, stick the red spray wand from the can of cleaner into the hole and flush your carbs out really good.

Then give it a try. Make sure that the connection between your carbs and head is tight while you are there. If that does not fix your problem you may ahve to pull the carbs and take a closer look.

I am helping a friend that worked on his bike and it now fails to start. He removed the carbs and sprayed carb cleaner around and inside the carbs. He then replaced them and the bike won"t start. It is...

Tim, if your friend has sprayed carb cleaner inside the carbs then maybe the needle in the float chamber is stuck. The needle is brass and has been known to "freeze" when sprayed with carb cleaner.
If the carbs have been removed and have been split apart, the chance are they need rebalancing.
I would remove carbs, empty float bowl, spray WD40 around the needle in float bowl, make sure it moves freely whe the carb is held right way up.
Put everything back together, balance them and try again.

Good luck!

Having problem keeping 1999 suzuki katana running when starting it up what can i do please help

Check petcock for fuel flow from the tank. if you have flow. Make sure your carb jets are free flowing. Check the degree range on your float springs. Make sure your carb airfilters are clean and free flowing, I order for a motor to operate it need fuel, fire, and air.

Katana won't start

Are the spark plugs firing ? Did you add a stabilizer to the fuel prior to storage?? If the plugs are firing, I would suggest that you drain the fuel bowl on the carburetors, disconnect the fuel lines and spray carbs full of a good carburetor / fuel injection cleaner and let it set a couple of days, then try to start again . If it still won't start, youmay have to disassemble the carbs and clean them in carb solvent.
If your bike has fuel injection, the gunk buildup from the gas may not be your problem. LAST RESORT Take it to a bike mechanic.
Hope this helps
